What we treat

Down below on this page, you’ll find the full list of what we treat and programs we offer. A high percentage of injuries and pain syndromes result from weakness and/or tightness in neighboring regions of the musculoskeletal system. Our therapists evaluate possible compensatory patterns in addition to the area of pain or loss of function. This thorough examination allows us to better identify and eliminate all underlying causes so patients achieve lasting results. We also focus on educating you, so that you’re empowered to take control of their injury, grow stronger than ever, and prevent recurrences.

We understand the impact that pain and loss of function can have on the lives of our patients. Our entire staff, from the front desk to our clinical team, provides a compassionate and motivational environment dedicated to healing. We ensure we are meeting each patient’s unique needs so their experience is both enjoyable and rewarding. We have extensive experience treating a variety of conditions including: shoulder injuries and surgeries, knee injuries and reconstructions/replacements, spinal conditions and surgeries, sports injuries and muscle traumas, chronic and acute pain syndromes, neck conditions and surgeries, pre and post-surgical cases, geriatric conditions, work-related injuries, chronic pain conditions, lower back pain, general strains and sprains, joint replacement recovery, neurological conditions, vestibular and balance conditions, auto accidents, hand and wrist injuries, and much more!

Great team of people. They make it a comfortable environment with laughter which is the best medicine 💜. They are excited to help you succeed in your plan of care all safely supervised and celebrate with you when it’s accomplished highly recommend for all ages. They push you to get stronger but also tell you when you might be over doing it follow the plan listen to your body and specialist and you will be back stronger and faster than you may think. Great job Ivey thanks 😊 for everything.
All of the staff done an amazing job interacting and encouraging my mother. Josh was her biggest encourager, so, thankful for everybody’s interest
The Staff here are AMAZING!! I feel like they not only care about treating my issues, they care about people! The Staff's amazing and the facility is great too! Very knowledgeable, professional, and personable!
Such caring people and they have so much fun and it brings your mood up for sure.
This is the only physical therapy place recommended by specialists in GR for pelvic floor therapy
Update: I have had my hip replacement surgery and have now successfully graduated physical therapy!!! So, thank you again to everyone at ivy rehab. Caitlin, Allison, and Kendra I will never forget your kindness and support as I got my mobility back. Thank you all so much!I have been to just about every physical therapy place in Muskegon as I navigated a new diagnoses of hip dysplasia. I had places that did not know what hip dysplasia was or even made comments like "I thought only dogs got that." They did not understand my condition and did not know how to treat me. I had put physical therapy on hold. I gained a lot of weight with my mobility issues, so I decided to have a gastric sleeve. The surgeon who did the gastric sleeve suggested I go and see Ivy Rehab for aqua therapy to help aid in weight loss. I was so nervous and scared because of my past experiences. I went and had the evaluation and for the first time I did not have to explain my condition, she knew what it was!!! Since I started with them (3 months at twice a week and 2 months every two weeks) my walking steadiness has gone from very low to low, I have gained muscle, loss weight, can walk longer and further, and have less pain. If you have to go to physical therapy, go here. I have gained so much since I started going here, even friends! Thank you so much for everything and I look forward to working with you guys through the next leg of my journey this spring. Hip replacement surgery!!!!!
Great results! Thank you!
very happy with the therapy that i am getting at IVY
Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful. They're always ready to answer questions.
I love this place they are very flexible with times and are very nice and clean and I loveeee their animal border everybody come in with positive attitudes nobody ever judges I very much recommend this place for physical therapy I messed up my one of my fingers and broke the other and I’m four weeks in and my fingers are way better.
The staff there are really nice. My therapist is very helpful.
Can’t give enough compliments to the Sherman/Muskegon group; from the front desk staff to the therapists and aids. I graduated 😞in December after a few months PT following a fall. Always professional, cheerful, and lots of joking. Many thanks to everyone taking part in my care. Home exercises just aren’t the same…😉
I’m new at Ivy but so far the therapists have been great. They have developed a therapy plan to match my need for better balance and improved strength in my lower extremities with consideration given for working through pain. My first aqua therapy session was perfect for helping with this goal.
I recently had knee surgery and went to Ivy for my rehab. I've gone to Ivy before for rehab after other surgeries, and it's why I went back. They know how to help you feel better, even though you might not think it feels better at the time! Healing takes time, and you need to move, even if you don't feel like it. They have the expertise to help. Plus, as a senior, I appreciate that they don't talk down to me in a condescending way, as I had been treated at other facilities. They're a fun place, too. Highly recommend them!
There the best especially Madison love the care she has
I would highly recommend this place. Treated with a smile and respect .
My back is the best it's been in a long time, little more to go, thanks to Ledi and Madi...
Fun and friendly atmosphere with knowledgeable staff.

The staff is great!! They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend
Friendly, competent staff.Very pleased.
I usually dread going to physical therapy, but not here. Everyone is so kind and friendly. They make a difficult experience after painful surgery more pleasant.
I found the staff to be kind and caring.
I had a very good experience with Tracy Lee. She treated me for positional vertigo (BPPV) which recurred after 3 years. Tracy is a very talented PT and a thorough expert at the Epley maneuver treatment procedure. The condition was mostly gone after one procedure and permanently after a follow up treatment one week later. Thanks to Tracy and the folks at Generation care for seeing me so quickly. Thanks in Muskegon!
I've been coming here for years. Their staff is wonderful & easy to talk to & work with. They're willing to try new things to achieve your personal goals. I recommend them to everyone!
I have come and gone of this place and each time I have had to come get therapy done it’s been successful. I am working with Allison and Rhiley their both physical and occupational therapist. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs therapy. I got recommended them by a surgeon I had back in 2017. Any time I need therapy I come here. Very flexible with your schedule as well.
I'm just getting started on a 16-session series of PT for Parkinsons. Meagan is absolutely a great therapist, well-informed about PD and I would recommend her and Generation Care for anyone.
My experience at Generation care has been great. The rehabilitation work has improved my functional mobility greatly. I would recommend them to anyone!!
