What we treat

Down below on this page, you’ll find the full list of what we treat and programs we offer. A high percentage of injuries and pain syndromes result from weakness and/or tightness in neighboring regions of the musculoskeletal system. Our therapists evaluate possible compensatory patterns in addition to the area of pain or loss of function. This thorough examination allows us to better identify and eliminate all underlying causes so patients achieve lasting results. We also focus on educating you, so that you’re empowered to take control of their injury, grow stronger than ever, and prevent recurrences.

We understand the impact that pain and loss of function can have on the lives of our patients. I worked with Nora Corbett for several months to reduce joint pain and migraines. Would return; hope I don't need to.
Wow! I've had 20+ surgeries, all requiring PT. These include knee, back, and foot surgeries. Nora is by far the most thorough and hands-on on PT that I've had the pleasure of working with. I felt better after only one session. Highly recommend.
Jess and everyone at Ivy Rehab were really great. They helped me regain movement in my neck, pain relief, and comfort in knowing that I can do things I was doing before. I looked forward to every appointment.
This is a great location for PT. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Nora did an excellent job all around: assessing the issue and reassessing as I made progress, trying out different stretches and exercises, building up a regimen over time, accommodating my schedule, educating me on how I could adopt exercises at home, and more. I will definitely return here for any future PT needs.
Nora and her PT student Molly truly changed my quality of life! They identified the source of my lower back pain as weak deep core muscles, and worked patiently with me to strengthen my core, back, and hips! They even brought in primary research articles to try new techniques to help me engage my muscles effectively and safely! I can’t thank them enough for their positivity, dedication, and encouragement!
This organization is well maintained, has multiple locations, well-trained & experienced Physical Therapists who work together as a team to provide the best care, tailored for each individual's specific needs/goals. They keep in contact with clients effectively, as to focus on the client's goals & minimize downtime, due to paperwork & scheduling. I look forward to healing under the supervision of the Ivy Team! *After getting to know the folks at Ivy, I feel very comfortable with working with all the therapists, who support each other, in an effort to provide the best treatment for my specific needs. They all know my specific treatment plan, are up to date with my progress and have all contributed to my healing! Thank you so much!
Kudos to Ivy Rehab on Shurs Lane, it was amazing. It has a fun vibe. I loved I going to therapy. I never thought that I would enjoy theraphy. All the therapists were awesome. My Theraphists Nora Corbett was the best. I call her Detectives Norah because she found out was causing my vertigo, although I had been diagnosed with another kind. She fixed me. . Also, therapists Mel( Clinical Director) and Brandy were amazing along with assistants, Mel and Cam and Temple student Molly. They were always laughing and joking with each other. . I felt like I was home. Thank you Shurs Lane Ivy Ridge!!!!
They're simply the best! So caring, flexible and nice! Incredibly knowledgeable Jess is a wizard of PT. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Super caring about patients. Uplifted me and took my recovery at my pace. I felt super comfortable. Everyone was very helpful, kind, and easy to talk to. :)
I started Ivy Rehab PT in November '22 for arthritis in my right hip. It felt like slow going, but eventually I felt my hip getting stronger and the pain lessening. I rang the bell in March of '23 and have continued the exercises on my own.I'm a very busy person and usually get about 10K steps in a day, but realized that was just from work and my busy life and wanted to add more cardio in along with my stretches and strength training at the gym. In June, I started walking and tracking my distance every morning and on July 1st I tallied up my miles. I was pleasantly surprised that I totaled exactly 60 miles.I walk at a fast pace and keep hydrated. I don't think it would have been possible had I not done the PT and strengthened the hip and joints. Thanks Phil and Ivy Rehab for getting me started on this journey.~Linda TimlinIvy Rehab ManyunkJuly 3, 2023
Amazing! Went in with some pretty severe knee pain, and the staff at Ivy Rehab got me back on track and moving in short order. Everyone was very kind, polite, and courteous. They have a dedicated parking lot (if you grab a permit at the desk) so you don't have to go circling the hills of Manayunk -- especially with a bum knee!Special shoutout to Jess for getting me back on my feet so quickly!
Nora at Ivy Rehab is wonderful! I had been experiencing vertigo for weeks and Nora explained my condition to me and took her time to give me a thorough examination. Nora is easy to talk to and really wants to help her patients improve!
PT specialists were able to rebuild my strength so that I forgot about pain and can get back to my excerise routine. Thank you!
Last year I had a sciatica attack that lasted 6 weeks and for 4 months after I experienced back pain that limited normal everyday activity. After 17 sessions I am back to feeling normal again. I can’t thank Ivy Rehab enough. The staff at this location are amazing. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and they work as a team assisting each other when needed.Thank you Jess (my physical therapist) for making me feel human again and for making me smile and laugh while exercising. Your bubbly personality can make bird-dogs fun (I hate bird-dogs lol).Thank you Sarah for all your help and friendly greetings.I am going to miss seeing you all now that I graduated P/T!Thank you, thank you, thank you.If you need P/T definitely go here!
I just finished up my second treatment at this office in the last 2 years. Both of the therapists I worked with were incredible and had me feeling better after PT than I did before injury. To celebrate my last day of PT after breaking my foot in October, I went roller skating yesterday, which I hadn't been able to do in years, and out-skated all of my friends. Thank you Jess!! ❤️ and other friends at Ivy Rehab for getting me back to the things I love.
I sprained my ankle badly and just tried to let time heal it. But 4 months after the original injury, I still couldn’t run or hop on it. I worked with Jessica, twice a week for about 8 weeks, and she helped immensely. We gradually incorporated exercises that asked more of my ankle, and I’m confident I’m going to make a full recovery. I just finished my formal PT sessions and I’m equipped with 15 to 20 exercises that I need to continue with on my own as I get back to running over the coming months.Jess was a great physical therapist; she knew so many ways to strengthen my injured ankle and she was supportive throughout. I observed much the same from the other staff members working with their patients. I’d absolutely recommend this place for PT.
Jess was great to work with when it came down to figuring out my persistent knee pain. I can’t believe how quickly I started to feel better after a few sessions here! Would definitely recommend for all PT needs!
Jessica di gennaro is the consummate professional as well as being kind patient and a lot of fun! It was quite a workout but I could barely walk up and down steps when I first met her and now I do that with ease. I am so much stronger and on top of my pain! I am so grateful. She gave me hope and helped me achieve much better function! Thank you jessica!
Awesome people and a nice clean space close to home , would definitely recommend
After suffering a fully torn patellar tendon (and seeing minimal progress after going to another physical therapy center), I came to to Ivy Rehab Manayunk in April 2022 worried I might not regain full mobility in my left knee. But after starting to work with Phil Jamora and team, I began to see steady progress week after week. With Phil’s help, I was able to not only get full mobility, but also gain full strength back in my injured knee. Phil was by my side the entire journey supporting my recovery. Without a doubt, I would not have made the recovery I did without Phil and the team from Ivy Rehab Manayunk!
Had some bad tendon/ligament injuries in my right foot that kept me on crutches for several weeks, came here for rehab. Worked primarily with Nora, but all the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The purpose/benefits of each exercise was explained when asked, I was never pushed too hard, and the exercises were effective enough that I've added some to my regular routine. Sometimes the place gets a little busy with therapists juggling multiple clients, but I never felt neglected. There was a great variety of clients, ranging from athletes with sports injuries to elderly clients recovering from surgery or suffering from chronic conditions, and the staff did a good job of prioritizing those who needed the most help, vs relatively simple cases like me where I could be given an exercise and largely left to complete it on my own. Liked it enough that I recommended it to my wife when she had some neck issues, and her experience has been extremely positive as well.
What a great Physical Therapy place to go to. They take there time talking to you and finding out what it is you are there for and after that they set up a plan of action so that you will eventually feel better.
When searching for a PT location 6 months ago after undergoing ACL repair surgery, I was at a loss. After spending 6 months with Phil (my PT), Neil and the team at W&N PT I'm so thankful I didn't choose anywhere else. Phil and team had me working hard each session, focused on returning to skiing this upcoming season, I felt that I was listened to and trained with excellent experience and equipment. I can't say enough GREAT things about this place, at the end I said I hope to see you all again but not inside the gym!
I had the best experience with my PT. Brandi, Jake and everyone are top notch professionals. Great music too ☺
The expertise Brandi Feinberg and the rest of the W&N staff turned my physical problems around swiftly and I was provided with a practical and doable plan. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Aside from the great environment, Wallace and Nilan give great care to their patients! They are dedicated and listen to your needs. If something doesn't work, they take the time to find out what does. My PT is Brandi and she takes her time with you, pushes you, but also wants to make sure you are recovering in a manner where you feel comfortable. I enjoy going because everyone is so nice. I've seen much improvement in my healing, and I know it's because of the care I've received!
Huge thank you and recommendation to Phil and the rest of the team! I fractured my femur snowboarding and had a titanium rod drilled through my leg. I limped through their doors 2-3 weeks after surgery and they had me walking normal again in no time! There was a steady program that progressed as we were comfortable with. As my injury healed, Phil inquired on my goals (Squatting, lifting, running, hiking, snowboarding, etc.) and then guided our program to meet those goals. The team makes it fun and you want to come back each week.I was finally able to "ring the bell" this past month and since then I went on a few 20+ mile backpacking trips already with zero pain/discomfort. Buying another ski-pass this upcoming season -All thanks to them!
Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. Always available for questions. Highly recommend!
Neil and all staff are all excellent clinicians. I received comprehensive and effective care each visit and was given all the information I needed to continue rehabbing my injury between visits. I'm now able to return to all my favorite physical activities pain free thanks to everyone at Wallace & Nilan Physical Therapy.
My experience with Nora Corbett,PT, DPT, COMT has been a pleasure considering I' m being treated for vertigo with the Epsely technique.I wish I had been introduce to this approach when I was in high school when I had my first concussion and experience vertico which lasted many years.Nora was gentle in her approach and would constantly maintain contact with me during the Epsley approach. I felt secure and confident with Nora at the helm.
Just completed my tour of duty at Wallace & Nilan physical therapy in Manayunk for pain and discomfort in my knee and hamstring muscle. It was demanding and rewarding. My issues are almost gone and I'm ready to continue their prescribed regimen on my own. Phil Jamora and the other members of the staff were extremely watchful and attentive to me and their other patients. Mr. Jamora saw my problem and worked with me to strengthen and stretching my legs. My experiemce was enlightening as to both my physical condition and how to improve it for a healthier future. The staff were professional without being distant and officious, making for an experience that was welcome to this 76-year-old. I think they know what they are doing. Recommended highly.
Worked with Nora on my knee injury over the course of 4 months. Went from a lot of pain while I ran to minimal or no pain. Was able to run a marathon after working with her. Would return and would recommend both the facility and her.
I am very glad that I had the opportunity to receive care from Nora and the rest of the staff here, who were all very professional and friendly. They never missed a beat. They took time to properly teach the exercises I needed and I have continued them on my own. My shoulder is no longer in pain daily. The environment was relaxed. I enjoyed and looked forward to the daily trivia and funky Fridays🎶.Wish you all the best.
I had bad vertigo due to an ear problem. Apparently the fix is certain set of movements. Nora was great and was able to run through these movements with me. After one session the problem in my ear was fixed and the vertigo stopped. The rest of the staff seemed very nice and helpful.
I used Wallace and Nilan's physical therapy services for recovery assistance from an automobile accident. The location itself is conveniently located just off Manayunk's Main Street in a modernized industrial building, with large windows to allow ample daylighting, high ceilings, and overall a pleasant space to inhabit. The staff there are absolutely top-notch, both in helping patients determine the best means of recovery as well as the welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere they foster. You're warmly greeted by name when you come in and they make a point to get to know each patient. They change up the music every day (or even ask for what you're into) and put up fun trivia / brain teasers. I also greatly appreciated every time they helped me reschedule an appointment in case I was not able to make my previously scheduled one. A big thank you to Phil as my regular therapist, and every other staff member (Neil, Jake, Annie, Nora, Brandi, Elizabeth, and Bob) who helped ensure I got the care I needed.
After my spine surgery, my surgeon recommended that I do physical therapy. I used Wallace and Nilan and it was the best move I made. I went from not being able to put my shoes on by myself to feeling back to my normal self. Phil was my therapist and over the course of my recovery we worked to slowly, safely and steadily get me back to my old self. Each session gave me more confidence and had me looking forward to living my life again. The space is great, good music and they don’t book too many people at the same time. I always had Phil’s attention while working out and the therapists are there to give tips, correct your form and to make sure you are avoiding further injury. I can’t thank Phil and Wallace and Nilan enough. 100% would recommend.
I had such a wonderful experience at Wallace and Nilan in Manayunk. My physical therapist was Nora and she was amazing! This was my second time tearing my ACL and I have definitely bounced back fast the second time with Nora’s help. I would highly recommend her if you are looking for a physical therapist!
I am writing this as a physician affiliated with Temple hospital.Wallace and Nilan PT is fantastic! I have had PT in several other places and this is by far the best. The staff is very professional and friendly. The first thing you notice is that the therapists are all dressed in khakis and nice shirts. They greet you and make you feel welcome. They have lively upbeat music playing that helps motivate you (Friday is funky Friday). Neil was my therapist and he worked so diligently with me to fix my shoulder. He wanted to see me better as much as I wanted to be better. The whole staff worked together and was always aware of when you finished a particular exercise. You never stood around waiting for someone. When you felt bad that you didn’t do your home exercises they reassured you that they were not the PT police. Neil was able to solve my shoulder issue even though it wasn’t a straightforward fix.I actually look forward to PT. I feel like I’m part of a family. Since parking is difficult in Manayunk, they give you a paper to put in your windshield and you can park in the lot right across the street.I highly highly recommend them!
Professional staff, knowledgeable, easily accommodated my schedule twice. A pleasant place to have PT.
Wallace and Nilan is excellent! Would highly recommend!
