What we treat

Below on this page, you’ll find the full list of what we treat and the programs we offer. A high percentage of injuries and pain syndromes result from weakness and/or tightness in neighboring regions of the musculoskeletal system. Our therapists evaluate possible compensatory patterns in addition to the area of pain or loss of function. This thorough examination allows us to better identify and eliminate all underlying causes so patients achieve lasting results. We also focus on educating you, so that you’re empowered to take control of their injury, grow stronger than ever, and prevent recurrences.

We understand the impact that pain and loss of function can have on the lives of our patients. Our entire staff, from the front desk to our clinical team, provides a compassionate and motivational environment dedicated to healing. I would recommend Ivy Rehab for anyone experiencing muscular pain or discomfort, whether injury-related or otherwise. After a thorough intake evaluation, my physical therapist Shane explained his diagnosis and treatment plan in detail. The therapy I received was well-considered and very effective, and Shane was always friendly and attentive. On dates when I was unable to schedule an appointment with Shane, the other two therapists I saw, Rosie and Hannah, were Shane's equals in every way. The two PT assistants, Bree and Cody, were excellent, too - always available to demonstrate or assist with exercises, and super friendly. And the office administrator, Vi, was so helpful regarding scheduling, billing, and insurance, plus she's one of the most cheerful people I've had the pleasure to meet! Now that my back and hip are feeling much better and I've "graduated," I feel very able to continue doing my exercises on my own. I'm really glad I found Ivy Rehab.
Alana is the best!! She is so kind and knowledgable and made my experience so positive. Cody is also great and super nice! I would recommend Alana and Ivy Rehab to anyone!
I had a great experience at Ivy rehab. I traumatized my knee in a fall and as a result lost mobility and strength while experiencing chronic pain for over a month. From the very beginning, i understood my goals and the exercises that were going to help me gain strength and flexibility. My therapists Hannah and Mike gave me excellent care and I always felt empowered after I left a therapy session. They were always observing and noting my progress and constantly revising my therapy program to best meet my needs. They listened and responded to all my concerns and treated me with kindness and respect.
Both professional and friendly ! Rosy and Brie were wonderful !
Shane, Rosy, Bree, and Cody are the best! Th was caring, attentive, and really great problem solvers (: highly recommend!
I wouldn't be where I am today without the staff at Ivy Rehab Society Hill. I was in and out of physical therapy for two years for hip pain, knee pain, shin splints, ankle pain, and post-surgery rehab: all parts of complications from my hip dysplasia. I worked with Alana Yates for most of my time and she was truly the BEST. All of the staff there are amazing; from Violet at the front desk, to the PT assistants, to the PT staff who fill in, to all the other PTs.As for Alana though, she will always hold a special place in my heart. Becoming disabled as a young adult has been incredibly difficult. It was not Alana's job to support me emotionally, but she truly showed up on the days where I would burst into tears or just be completely over it. She was my biggest cheerleader when I felt like I would never get through all of the pain I was feeling. Her patience, humor, and skills are unmatched! She has made me feel confident in my ability to manage my pain and there aren't enough words to express my gratitude.
I broke my ankle in February and was super worried about my recovery and returning to normal life. When I started PT the staff at Ivy Rehab made me feel like there was actually a light at the end of the tunnel. My therapist was Rosie and I highly recommend her!! I “graduated” after about 6 weeks and feel confident in my ability to live life the way I did before my injury!
Really can't say enough good things about my experience at Ivy. Alana was my physical therapist and she really went above and beyond. She is extremely knowledgeable and did an amazing job at creating a personalized program that addressed my exact needs and goals and evolved as I recovered. Everyone there was friendly and helpful and I always felt like I was in good hands. If I ever need physical therapy again this is definitely where I'll be doing it.
Rosy got my shoulder fixed and back to work.
Knee Replacement Surgery RehabHannah Schied evaluated, developed a recovery program and guided me through six months following surgery. My recovery is a story of steady progress without incident. There is a lot of trauma for the leg when the knee joint is replaced. The experienced can at times be a source of worry. As a patient I had many questions about cause and effect and how particular physical exercises contribute to recovery. Hannah listened carefully to my questions, addressed my concerns with thoughtful instruction on physiology as it applied to my case. Her knowledge and communication skill made her program for me more effective because I understood what we were doing. The entire team in the society hill office was encouraging and supportive. My choice of the word team is deliberate. I think of all of them as friends and neighbors. I recommend this office and Hannah in particular without hesitation. Thanks for very important work done well.
I just finished a relatively quick, and surprisingly pleasant PT stint here for my knee. I worked with Hannah, who went above and beyond in every metric I can think of. She was extremely knowledgeable, supportive, enjoyable to be around (which is key in PT, I think), and most importantly - effective! My injured knee is feeling so much better.
I went to the Ivy Rehab in Old City and my Physical Therapist was Hannah. She was really awesome and helped me recover from my lower back pain. I went in with really low mobility and could barely sit down. After about 3 weeks, I was feeling great and after 6 weeks, I "graduated". Hannah really helped push me when I needed it and told me where to focus when I was working out at home. The exercises, the staff, everyone was really fantastic! And of course I cannot forget Cody. He was a lot of fun to have helping Hannah setup my exercises and guide me through some workouts. Vi at the front desk is the nicest human in the world. Always offering coffee, tea, water, etc and remembers you after your very first visit. Literally feels like coming into a family. I Highly recommend Hannah and if you’re lucky – you get some good laughs with her and Cody!!
Rosemary Wilson is amazing. I was signed up for surgery and cancelled because of her incredible help. The facility and atmosphere are professional as are all of the therapists.
ALANA IS AMAZING!! I struggled with back issues for many years and finally was able to go to physical therapy, and Alana was attentive, encouraging, extremely knowledgeable, not to mention kind and empathetic. We ended up addressing my feet and chest/rib issues as well, and I graduated physical therapy with so much more strength, improved range of motion, and most importantly, confidence. I’m much more comfortable doing my daily activities and I feel way more equipped to make physical movement a bigger part of my life. I 1000% recommend physical therapy here.
Alana and the rest of the staff from Ivy Rehab got me back to living my life pain free. I didn’t have experience with physical therapy before coming here, but when I was having mobility issues because of my lower back pain, I was recommended to Ivy Rehab. Alana was the perfect mix of stern yet extremely caring while teaching me exercises. I’m so grateful to everyone there for not only doing their job, but making it personal. It was so nice to see the staff being invested not only in people’s personal/physical growth, but supporting their emotional journey and meeting folks where they are at from day to day. If I ever have any other issues, I know where to go.
I've been meaning to write this for a while. Shane and the entire team here helped me immensely. I went from a level 10 of pain to 0 and I am so very grateful! I'm confident if I ever have a flare up I will be in great hands here again and I highly recommend to anyone suffering from an injury or recovering!
Several times I have been a patient in rehab facilities. I was pleased with my therapists. But with Hannah Schied from Ivy-Society Hill it was more - she managed to win my highest gratitude and sincere admiration.Already during the evaluation session, Hannah impressed me with her deep professional knowledge, high level of intelligence, great manner of dealing with a patient and experienced grip that never made me feel pain even when she touched my damaged ankle. With persistence and competence, Hannah led me to full recovery. The hours with her were joy instead of torture.I highly recommend her to everybody. My deep gratitude also to the kind receptionist, who was extremely helpful!Thank you, Hannah, and best luck to you and the friendly staff at Ivy-Society Hill,Nassya Kralevska-Owens
I had a serious knee operation and found Ivy Rehab for my physical therapy. I chose the fourth street location based on a friend's recommendation. They took me from when i was barely off of crutches to now nearing a full 100% recovery. They modified my treatment as they saw my progression. To some degree, they followed the charts. But what was most impressive is the caring way i was treated. It was like having a coach. I was praised when i made progress and gently scolded when i was mentally holding myself back and needed to be pushed. If you go, ask for Rosemary. She actually made me look forward to the visits. Her combination of therapeutic knowledge and patient interaction really made a difference. While she is the standout i would ask for, Vi at the front desk was always nice and if you liek cheese, ask for Brie to help. Rosemary has made quite a difference in my recovery.
From when you enter Ivy Rehab you know you are in a very friendly and professional environment. I have had several back/neck surgeries which at various times need strengthening. After being assigned Alana Yates for my first round of therapy, I continue to request her. I have found her to be highly skilled and sensitive to my needs. Each time she has successfully addressed the issues. Alana also reaches out periodically to see how I am doing. I highly recommend Ivy Rehab without any reservations.
I highly recommend Ivy rehab for their thoughtful and thorough approach to addressing issues holistically.
I recently completed a series of treatments for my knee pain at this Ivy Rehab location. The experience was exceptional. From the first session, the staff’s expertise and care were evident. My therapist, Rosemary, was thorough, supportive, and professional. The treatment plan remedied my pain and improved my mobility and quality of life. I am grateful for the dedication and friendliness of everyone there.
Alana Yates, as well as the rest of the team at Ivy Rehab in Society Hill was awesome! I'm a gym rat, but I learned a ton about my body, how to care for it, and how to make it stronger from the folks at Ivy. So knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend this team!
I cannot recommend ivy rehab enough!! Everyone is so kind and welcoming. I was injured less than 2 months before running my first marathon and they were so helpful with not only remedying my pain symptoms, but also working to prevent future injuries.I had the opportunity to work with multiple physical therapists there and they are all so knowledgeable!
I had a great experience at Ivy Rehab. I interacted with Rosie, who is very dedicated and knowledgeable. She is very kind, patient and genuinely interested in helping the patients. I have also been taken care of by other therapists and I had a similar experience, as all the therapists are very skilled, professional and friendly. I strongly recommend Ivy Rehab in Society Hill.
They're so good I posted on Friendsgiving!
Shane is a magician! In just one appointment he completely eradicated my chronic calf pain by adjusting my stride. And Ivy as a whole is warm, charming, flexible and professional. Couldn’t be happier about my decision to entrust them with my PT treatment!
I have been to physical therapy before so by comparison, I have had an excellent experience here. The staff was very attentive and the exercises progressed in a way that matched my progress. The extra attention of matching exercises to meet my goals of playing sports again in the last phase of the therapy makes me feel confident and secure returning to an active lifestyle. It was not just a cookie cutter therapy program. I would highly recommend this location.
Easy-going, caring staff. The therapist time w/each patient is considerably more than other places which tend to leave you with an assistant that is just making sure you're moving but not checking form, etc. The therapist is constantly looking to see what's working/not working/what options can be taken to further refine and progress within your individual needs. Not a comment on this location but rather on the network, I found the sites a little clunky as there was an Ivy Rehab site "raintree" for payments and secured messages versus Ivy Rehab site "medbridgego" for exercises and they do not connect to each other.
I had a very positive experience working with physical therapist Alana Yates. I came to physical therapy feeling frustrated and defeated with plantar fasciitis pain that was keeping me from running. Alana helped create a stretching and strength training plan that got me able to run pain free. She was patient and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
I worked with Alana and her team of physical therapists for a month. They were professional, caring, and personable, and took pride in their goal of making me considerably healthier than when I first began. 💪🏼🫶🏼
I've been coming to Ivy Rehab over the last 10 weeks for a plantar fasciitis and hip/glute issue with steady progress. Primarily I've worked with Shane supported by Bree; Shane is knowledgeable and I feel I'm in good hands, it's clean, and managed well.
Highly recommended. Excellent results thanks to the entire staff at Society Hill. Special thanks to Shane (physical therapist) for getting me moving again and sending me off with the knowledge (and exercises) for increasing strength and flexibility.
Ivy Rehab is the best. Everyone there is incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. My physical therapist was Alana and I recommend her wholeheartedly. I went to Ivy for a soft tissue injury making it painful to walk and to sit or lay down for any length of time. Alana worked with me to recover and build strength and balance, paying close attention to progress and making adjustments to the treatment plan as needed. Thanks to Alana and with assistance from Bree and Cody I recovered fully and can say with confidence I am stronger now than prior to my injury.
I first visited Ivy Rehab after a bad back injury and within just a few weeks I felt much better after working with their team. Even moreso after a couple of months. The staff is great and the facility is clean. Highly recommend!
I could not have asked for a better physical therapy experience. Ivy is lucky to have folks like Alana and Shane working for them!!
What a wonderful place. Alana was my therapist and she was thorough, attentive, funny, and professional. I felt like every session was performed or adjusted, if needed, to very simply strive for a better quality of life. That type of attention was evident from our first meeting and it never wavered. I was seen for a shoulder labrum tear and a bum ankle. I was skeptical - I mean seriously skeptical - at the outset of my treatment but I’m not anymore. I’ve noticed incredible progress, and I’m forever grateful. The entire team is fantastic, each of them obviously dedicated and easy to work with. Alana was incredible in every way, and if I ever need PT again, I will go nowhere else.
Great PTs and students in training. Very thorough, good results so far, and excellent professional and fun demeanor.
The results I've achieved in two weeks of therapy are well beyond my expectations. I'm not yet back to my pre-accident self. but the limp is gone and I can almost walk at my normal pace. I couldn't be happier with the improvement.
Amazing PT program. Everyone is so nice, professional, and helpful. Highly recommend. If I could, I'd give them ten stars.
I had a great experience working with Alana at Ivy. The entire staff is warm and welcoming, and my sessions were extremely helpful in addressing my hip pain. Alana is great and super patient. Highly recommend!
Just finished my last session, everyone there was great. Highly recommend to anyone that wants a great PT experience
Experienced, caring and professional staff. What I need for rehab!
Couldn't have had a better experience with Shane and the rest of the staff at Ivy Rehab. Would highly recommend!
They are miracle-workers!
Great physical therapists. Professional, helpful and very nice environment!
Working with Shane to build strength and balance do to osteoporosishas been a great experience .
I have the highest regard for the therapists working at this facility. I started PT with Shane about a month and a half ago. My back was in pretty bad shape at the time. Not only am I feeling significantly better since then, I can honestly say that my back and core hasn't felt this good in ages. I cant thank him enough for his help. Very grateful!!
Excel and Alana Yates were my third attempt at PT for my hip labrum tear and bum knee. I cannot say enough about the care I received from Alana, she was thoughtful, attentive and patient, always adjusting exercises to fit my particular issues. Today - I am able to walk without pain and I owe it all to Alana. I wholeheartedly recommend Alana should you need physical therapy...God forbid I require PT again - I will run (if able) back to Alana.
