What we treat

Below on this page, you’ll find the full list of what we treat and the programs we offer. This thorough examination allows us to better identify and eliminate all underlying causes so patients achieve lasting results. We also focus on educating you, so that you’re empowered to take control of their injury, grow stronger than ever, and prevent recurrences.

I cannot recommend ivy rehab enough!! Everyone is so kind and welcoming. I was injured less than 2 months before running my first marathon and they were so helpful with not only remedying my pain symptoms, but also working to prevent future injuries.I had the opportunity to work with multiple physical therapists there and they are all so knowledgeable!
I had a great experience at Ivy Rehab. I interacted with Rosie, who is very dedicated and knowledgeable. She is very kind, patient and genuinely interested in helping the patients. I have also been taken care of by other therapists and I had a similar experience, as all the therapists are very skilled, professional and friendly. I strongly recommend Ivy Rehab in Society Hill.
They're so good I posted on Friendsgiving!
Shane is a magician! In just one appointment he completely eradicated my chronic calf pain by adjusting my stride. And Ivy as a whole is warm, charming, flexible and professional. Couldn’t be happier about my decision to entrust them with my PT treatment!
I have been to physical therapy before so by comparison, I have had an excellent experience here. The staff was very attentive and the exercises progressed in a way that matched my progress. The extra attention of matching exercises to meet my goals of playing sports again in the last phase of the therapy makes me feel confident and secure returning to an active lifestyle. It was not just a cookie cutter therapy program. I would highly recommend this location.
Easy-going, caring staff. The therapist time w/each patient is considerably more than other places which tend to leave you with an assistant that is just making sure you're moving but not checking form, etc. The therapist is constantly looking to see what's working/not working/what options can be taken to further refine and progress within your individual needs. Not a comment on this location but rather on the network, I found the sites a little clunky as there was an Ivy Rehab site "raintree" for payments and secured messages versus Ivy Rehab site "medbridgego" for exercises and they do not connect to each other.
I had a very positive experience working with physical therapist Alana Yates. I came to physical therapy feeling frustrated and defeated with plantar fasciitis pain that was keeping me from running. Alana helped create a stretching and strength training plan that got me able to run pain free. She was patient and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
I worked with Alana and her team of physical therapists for a month. They were professional, caring, and personable, and took pride in their goal of making me considerably healthier than when I first began. 💪🏼🫶🏼
I've been coming to Ivy Rehab over the last 10 weeks for a plantar fasciitis and hip/glute issue with steady progress. Primarily I've worked with Shane supported by Bree; Shane is knowledgeable and I feel I'm in good hands, it's clean, and managed well.
Highly recommended. Excellent results thanks to the entire staff at Society Hill. Special thanks to Shane (physical therapist) for getting me moving again and sending me off with the knowledge (and exercises) for increasing strength and flexibility.
Ivy Rehab is the best. Everyone there is incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. My physical therapist was Alana and I recommend her wholeheartedly. I went to Ivy for a soft tissue injury making it painful to walk and to sit or lay down for any length of time. Alana worked with me to recover and build strength and balance, paying close attention to progress and making adjustments to the treatment plan as needed. Thanks to Alana and with assistance from Bree and Cody I recovered fully and can say with confidence I am stronger now than prior to my injury.
I first visited Ivy Rehab after a bad back injury and within just a few weeks I felt much better after working with their team. Even moreso after a couple of months. The staff is great and the facility is clean. Highly recommend!
I could not have asked for a better physical therapy experience. Ivy is lucky to have folks like Alana and Shane working for them!!
What a wonderful place. Alana was my therapist and she was thorough, attentive, funny, and professional. I felt like every session was performed or adjusted, if needed, to very simply strive for a better quality of life. That type of attention was evident from our first meeting and it never wavered. I was seen for a shoulder labrum tear and a bum ankle. I was skeptical - I mean seriously skeptical - at the outset of my treatment but I’m not anymore. I’ve noticed incredible progress, and I’m forever grateful. The entire team is fantastic, each of them obviously dedicated and easy to work with. Alana was incredible in every way, and if I ever need PT again, I will go nowhere else.
Great PTs and students in training. Very thorough, good results so far, and excellent professional and fun demeanor.
The results I've achieved in two weeks of therapy are well beyond my expectations. I'm not yet back to my pre-accident self. but the limp is gone and I can almost walk at my normal pace. I couldn't be happier with the improvement.
Amazing PT program. Everyone is so nice, professional, and helpful. Highly recommend. If I could, I'd give them ten stars.
I had a great experience working with Alana at Ivy. The entire staff is warm and welcoming, and my sessions were extremely helpful in addressing my hip pain. Alana is great and super patient. Highly recommend!
Just finished my last session, everyone there was great. Highly recommend to anyone that wants a great PT experience
Experienced, caring and professional staff. What I need for rehab!
Couldn't have had a better experience with Shane and the rest of the staff at Ivy Rehab. Would highly recommend!
My pt experience to overcome vertigo was effective, educational, and surprisingly enjoyable (even tho the exercises and homework assignments were very challenging). I highly recommend Ivy Rehab.
They are miracle-workers!
Great physical therapists. Professional, helpful and very nice environment!
Working with Shane to build strength and balance do to osteoporosishas been a great experience .
I have the highest regard for the therapists working at this facility. I started PT with Shane about a month and a half ago. My back was in pretty bad shape at the time. Not only am I feeling significantly better since then, I can honestly say that my back and core hasn't felt this good in ages. I cant thank him enough for his help. Very grateful!!
Excel and Alana Yates were my third attempt at PT for my hip labrum tear and bum knee. I cannot say enough about the care I received from Alana, she was thoughtful, attentive and patient, always adjusting exercises to fit my particular issues. Today - I am able to walk without pain and I owe it all to Alana. I wholeheartedly recommend Alana should you need physical therapy...God forbid I require PT again - I will run (if able) back to Alana.
Excellent service. Staff is very professional and friendly.
I've now been to Excel for four different injuries over the years, and every time I've received exceptional care. Most recently, I'm proud to say I just "graduated" PT after expert support from Alana Yates to help me recover from a hip injury. This location is convenient, the staff are incredibly professional and kind, and the access is great. Thanks to everyone there for your help over the years!
Worked with Alana for a few weeks on my shoulder. She communicated well and helped me push my limits and get stronger over several sessions. My shoulder is now pain free!
I have and will continue to recommend Excel (now Ivy) Physical Therapy to family and friends. The therapists are fantastic, especially Alana Yates, with whom I worked most recently, and the Office Manager, Vi, is the best! I wouldn’t consider any other place for physical therapy.
Ivy Rehab, especially Alana changed my life for the better. I never thought I would move this freely with zero pain. Alana’s caring, kindness, dedication to her craft and professionalism really made a difference. I know we don’t always get a choice in physical therapists but if you do ask for Alana. She’s the very best!
Andrew, at the Washington Square location has made my experience dealing with Achilles issues quite successful. As busy as he and the other physical therapists get, his attention to my issues and routine for success were met. Exercises were made easy to follow and with patience, the healing process slowly took place over several months was met.I highly recommended Andrew and his team. They are thoughtful, humourous at times and very professional.
I love the team here! So nice and accommodating and definitely helped a great deal with my back! Alana was my PT and I can't say enough great things!
I just finished my post op physical therapy at Excel PT with Alana Yates. She is remarkable:patient, knowledgeable, consistent and accessible when I had a question or concern after my treatments. So grateful to have had this experience.I have been a client at Excel PT for over 20 years. Would not go anywhere else. Over this time I have had amazing therapists and a positive experience but I must say that the rock of this office is the office administrator, Valerie Martelack. Her warm and genuine professional welcome is a constant!
I had such a great experience at Excel therapy society hill! I worked with Alana during my time. She has such a sweet, nurturing personality. She always made the treatment plan clear and easy to follow. I felt in great hands. I highly recommended seeing Alana:)
I had a great experience with Excel and appreciate the effort Brianna put into my recovery. I came in with a knee issue after running a marathon and Brianna was quick to understand the issue and put together a plan that allowed me to slowly start running again. Her enthusiasm and encouragement helped make the process enjoyable.
Superior physical therapy here. I graduated today (from a back injury) thanks to Alana! The depth and breadth of the experience, plus the 1 to 1 therapy, was critical to my healing. The take home exercises were useful and necessary. I went into Excel concerned for my long term health. Feel like I’m breaking free today with a whole new outlook. Positive environment begins when you walk into the door the first time when greeted by Violet. Violet will remember you and will make you feel welcome and part of the family. There’s great banter and music if that’s important to you. It was to me. Laughing is a part of healing. Bri is doing a great job with this practice. Well done everyone. Hope to meet you all one day without the masks! Which is an important final note. Excel follows all necessary precautions so everyone should feel completely confident and comfortable. Alana, you rule! I owe you, and THANKS SO MUCH!
Excel Facility!!!
I chose Excel because it is just a few blocks from my home (the walk is good for me, too!) and I am glad I did! The environment is clean and bright, and reception is friendly and efficient. But best is my PT Rosemary, who knows just how much to push - er, encourage - me, and is able to adjust exercises based on my feedback and ability. I've only been a few sessions so far, but can already feel the difference.
My name is Patrick and I've been a runner my entire life. In March 2021 I had exacerbated an ongoing (2y) knee injury and was referred by Philly-Runner Track Club to Dr. Sennett of Penn Medicine, the orthopedic surgeon for the Flyers. Patella Femoral Syndrome was his diagnosis and unfortunately the only remedy was to rest for months and hope PT could make a difference. Dr. Sennett understood my passion for running and referred me to Dr. Brianna Patton of Excel PT - Society Hill.Dr. Patton also understood my passion for running, unlike my insurance company. In the limited amount of sessions I was allowed, Dr. Patton applied the diagnosis to my running form and swiftly deduced the problems. She was able to show me exactly what I was doing wrong, where my muscles were weak and how to fix all of it. Although, there is still a lot of corrective work to do on my own, Dr. Patton gave me all the stretches, workouts and mental cues I need to continue running. It's now August 24, 2021 and I just got back from coaching high school cross country for the week. I ran about 30 miles and did on average 35,000 steps everyday. It was only months ago that I thought I'd have to hang up my running shoes at the age of 30. Instead I am once again working out, building back, and living my passion. I owe every mile I run from here on out to Dr. Brianna Patton and her staff of friendly professionals. Running is my life; I have my life back. My gratefulness simply cannot be overstated.
Great staff and facility! I worked with Alexis and she was wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and was invested in my progress from start to finish. Would highly recommend!
What a wonderful site for rehab re balance! And my old fried from years ago is the receptionist VI -what a special person -always upbeat and happy when you arrive and leave! My Therapist Brianna was fabulous -when I was not making enough progress-she diagnosed a very tight IT band and rolled it several times a week until my left leg was as strong as my right . In addition I have exercises to do at home to keep my balance as improved as it is now!! Thank you all!
Professional, clean and well managed. My Physical Therapist Randi Dahms did an excellent job preparing me for my hip replacement. The post operative PT got me back on my feet feet and moving pain free very quickly.
So it has been 2 months since I started PT with Rachel Maher and I couldn’t be more satisfied. I had a herniated disc with intense parathesias and weakness of my leg. Rachel developed a routine that started with simple exercises that I could do at home and has progressed and built on those foundational exercises over the past 2 months. My symptoms have improved and my core has been strengthened. Rachel has been encouraging, easy to understand, and methodical. Also, the front desk staff including Violet are great and make the paperwork painless! Thanks Excel!
Great exercises designed to strengthen my muscles. Lots of creative ideas to get me moving while still having fun! Adam and Randi are the best!
