What we treat

I have a hamstring issue and working with the therapists at PSPT is excellent.

Having attended several very well-regarded PT facilities in Brooklyn and Manhattan for knee and hip issues, Park Sports has proven the most effective. And I’m especially and deeply impressed with Dr. Fraida Diamond. No blaring background music, but rather careful, thoughtful, and skillful analysis and treatment. Unlike so many, you’re not left on an exercise bike or treadmill for 20 minutes while your PT simultaneously attends two other clients. Park Sports offers directed individual care with exercises that vary from session to session, and which can be done at home as well. Very highly recommend both Dr. Diamond and Park Sports.

I have to say I was so surprised from the very first day I was starting to feel better from a back pain that I’ve had for a year due to surgery. Mike hit every single spot that hurt in terms of an exercise that would stretch it, relax it, and end up alleviating that particular pain. My core is gradually getting back in shape as I do the exercises daily. Definitely deserves five stars.

Not surprised at all the positive reviews. Thank you to all the therapists that helped me with my elbow recovery, especially to Nicole. She was very professional, compassionate and a good listener. All of the therapists did a great job and were able to gauge my progress correctly and I never overdid any exercises. The app helped me stay disciplined at home too. Highly recommend them!!

I've had a really good experience at Park Sports. My trainer for the most past Alexandra is thoughtful with her regimen. She's clearly identified the muscle groups that need to get stronger and through a combination of in-person exercises and homework, I can already feel the improvement in my daily life. But more than anything else, I've managed to make that elusive mind-muscle connection. I can activate my glutes, quads and hamstrings consciously. In the past my brain wouldn't even register when either of those muscle groups were working.Alexandra is really patient with answering questions - which I have many of - to help me make better sense of my body. And it's paid off - I'm very mindful of movements - climbing, going down stairs, running when I'm not in class.Highly recommend this place!!

Superb in every respect. Allie gave me a comprehensive evaluation, asking detailed questions in order to develop an individualized plan to rehab my injured shoulder. Allie paid close attention to make sure that I was performing the exercises correctly. I noticed improvement in my range of motion immediately and have improved steadily since. Allie sent short video clips of exercises to my email so that I could do PT at home between appointments. Abigail is equally fantastic, as I'm sure all therapists are at Park Slope Physical Therapy. It may be difficult to schedule your first appointment, but that is testament to the excellence of the PT. It is so worth it, so don't be dissuaded.

I have been coming to Park Sports PT following a knee injury + plantar fasciitis. The therapists are friendly and knowledgeable and have immensely helped me heal. I also better understand what exercises will strengthen my body and allow me to exercise safely and effectively. Specifically love working with Yael but I have been so pleased with all that I have worked with.
20:48 07 Mar 21
I am home recuperating and needed physical therapy via tele health. The person taking down my information, insurance, etc was so accommodating that I got set up with Yael quickly, which was a relief: no waiting! I need to work on reconditioning, regaining strength, and balance. Yael listens with compassion and prescribes the right exercises, working with me on my stamina. I move my laptop around so she can see what I’m doing and she corrects me accordingly. It’s been a bit over a month and I feel stronger, which is inspiring. The exercises Yael gives me shows a broad knowledge base in her field which ultimately is to my benefit and quite frankly, I couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you.
16:56 17 Feb 21
Had a wonderful experience here with Yael. She was kind, responsive, helpful and seems to really care about well-being and recovery of her clients/patients. After three visits and four weeks of prescribed exercises, saw significant improvement in ongoing knee issues. Very professional and straight-forward, easeful experience from start to finish.

I've been working with Abigail on a multitude of chronic pain issues and cannot recommend her enough!!! Not only is she deeply knowledgeable in her field, but intuitive, creative and truly compassionate in her care. It's such a treasure to find people like this when dealing with serious health impediments. She has also been a CHAMP in dealing with covid protocols and keeping her patients and facility as safe as possible, a big thank you to her for always staying on point and making sure you feel comfortable.

Our family has used Park Sports Physical Therapy with great results. My son went there when he first learned he had scoliosis as a young teen for Schroth therapy. I was able to watch some of the sessions.. I saw how caring and compassionate the therapist was and how well my son responded to the treatment.Later I also went myself for knee pain and worked with other therapists who were just as caring, friendly, and skilled. I was able to get rid of my pain and regain my strength and mobility very quickly. The office is also very attractive with new equipment. The staff there is very professional. I never had any problems making appointments and they worked with my son a few times when he wanted to switch an appointment.I highly recommend Park Slope Physical Therapy.

I've been going to Park Sports Physical Therapy for the last 6 weeks for a hip/psoas injury and have had an excellent experience. Dan Bogart is my therapist, and he's been great! He's very knowledgeable and has a wide variety of stretching and exercise techniques to help get me back on track. Compared to other PT offices I've used in the city, I appreciate Park Sports because I get much more individualized attention. As for my experience in the current COVID world, I feel completely safe and comfortable in the environment. Everyone (clients and therapists) all wear masks and there's a limited number of patients in the office at a time.Overall, I've been very happy with Park Sports and would recommend it to others.

I had a great experience at Park Sports Physical therapy. park sports atmosphere was friendly, comfortable and welcoming. I worked with Moussia Krinsky-Raskin, MS, OTR/L, an occupational therapist and hand rehabilitation specialist, following my digital nerve repair surgery. Moussia was super professional, highly qualified, very personable. She was positive, upbeat, and provided high quality therapy and at home follow up exercises. After only a couple of sessions I saw significant improvement in both functionality and movement and my return to ADL activities. I highly recommend Moussia for all hand, wrist, finger injuries and rehabilitation therapy.

I'm a guitarist. Any injury to my hands is a potential nightmare. Park Sports PT has served me well, over the years. From rehabbing tendinitis, to a broken wrist, to my current broken finger. Great place for PT! The physical therapists are concerned about your overall health and well being. Once your situation is assessed, they proceed at a pace that supports you and challenges you at the same time. Sessions can include heat, ice, muscle stim, stretching, exercises, etc., all in a relaxed atmosphere. The therapist gave me exercises to do at home to help me progress. I've noticed a significant improvement in functionality, and a complete cessation of pain! On an administrative note, they take cards for payment, and will keep the card on file if you wish, allowing for streamlined billing. The location is convenient, a block from the B67/69 buses. I highly recommend Park Sports Physical Therapy.

I rarely write reviews but I feel moved to do so now because of my recent experience. I have been seeing Nicole at the 9 St & PPW location for the past 2 months for an impinged shoulder. She is highly-skilled, compassionate, encouraging, attentive and never rushes me. She's great at explaining exercises and making sure I do them correctly, and gives great massages to break up scar tissue. What's more, she's a true healer. Everyone I've met in the office--the other PTs as well as Neesa at the front desk--is friendly, creating a welcoming, congenial atmosphere that carries over to the other patients/clients as well.Sadly, I'm switching locations because none of the PTs at the 9th St. location take my new insurance (Aetna).

Recommendation for Chaya Moussia Krinsky-RaskinMoussia Krinsky-Raskin worked on my left hand, usually two times per week, for several months after two surgical procedures were performed in October, 1918. During that time a third surgery was performed on that hand. When we started, my hand was stiff, somewhat sore and very weak. Now my hand has regained full flexibility and range of motion, is no longer sore and has recovered strength.Over the course of treatment I adhered to the home program Moussia gave me. Treatment and the home program varied as I showed improvement. Moussia employed several treatment modalities, including fluidotherapy, massage, hot wax and the use of various devices to exercise my hand in fine motor and gross movement and control. She is enormously knowledgeable. She was encouraging and well-attuned to my needs and made me feel cared for and understood. At the same time, she was demanding and pushed me and my stiff hand to recovery. The Park Sports facility where she works is clean, sunny, professionally run and pleasant.Michael Edelman

Friendly. One to one treatment. The best therapy I have experienced around. Highly recommended!
14:17 25 Sep 19
Moussia Krinsky-Raskin is an OT at this site, and I was very happy with the work she did with me as I recovered from a fractured wrist.I have had the experience of watching many PTs and OTs up close while caring for family members over the past decade (probably a few dozen in all), and Moussia was one of the best I have seen. She is enthusiastic, inventive, and always had new things for me to do. She clearly loves her work, and that is such an important thing for an OT or PT. Thank you, Moussia.

It's my second time in years getting physical therapy at Park Sports (at the Fulton St. location), and I'm grateful to them for helping me recover - as well as gain confidence around how to keep myself strong and injury-free in the future. Besides attentively checking on me to ensure I was doing my exercises with proper form, they also educated me on how to continue taking care of my body (by answering all of my many questions about returning to/ramping up my physical activities). I recently worked with Patrick, and appreciated his compassionate, calm, and unrushed presence as well. In addition, the front desk staff were always friendly, and the space is open, airy, and bright. The daylight from the windows and backyard garden definitely make it one of the most pleasant PT spaces to do exercises in! And for anyone with mobility issues, the ground floor space is easily accessible.

My mom used Park Sports Physical Therapy. The staff is great. Boris was very pleasant therapist to work with. My mom is very happy with the service, and all the help she was able to get from Park Sports. She is definitely going back!

Nicole is a wonderful therapist and I intend to go back to her for my next round of PT. The only downside I've found at all about her office is that it's very busy, so scheduling gets tricky sometimes. That aside, I give it my highest recommendation.
20:24 06 Aug 18
This is an excellent facility. My personal experience over many weeks has been stellar in every way. 5-star shout out to Moussia Krinsky-Raskin, the most professional, knowledgeable, hard working, kind, caring therapist anyone can hope for. Moussia and the staff were ready, willing, and somehow always able to accommodate my schedule; appointments always ran on time, everyone was consistently pleasant. From the moment I first came in, Moussia had me firmly believing that I will absolutely get better. I remember her saying, "we do graduate our patients" - but that seemed so far in the distance. Moussia, you were right! Thank you for riding along on my journey. You were a superb driver!

This is my wife's review: I had carpal tunnel & trigger release surgery on 3 fingers in January. The atmosphere at the Prospect Park location is welcoming & upbeat from the moment you walk in. Very pleasant space. Moussia was my OT & she is amazing. I couldn't have picked a better place or OT for my recovery. I have complicating issues which made it a difficult recovery. Moussia is engaging very knowledgeable & full of energy. She was very supportive , encouraging & patient with me through my long recovery. She is very innovative , mixing up the exercises making the difficult tasks almost fun . I am now back at the gym, lifting weights & able to use my hand to do everything I did before surgery. I couldn't have done it without her. Rene M.

I have had back pain for YEARS (diagnosed as 3 pinched nerves) and after 12 sessions at Park Sports it finally disappeared. Kristin has a wealth of knowledge about backs, and gave me a variety of stretches, exercises, and mobilizations that I continue to do on my own. She and the staff are all super kind, knowledgeable, caring, and attentive. 100% recommend. It no longer hurts to sneeze!
20:45 11 May 18
After hand surgery, Moussia returned my hand to full strength and mobility, enabling me to resume piano, photography, fine carpentry, gardening, and dog walking and grooming! Moussia is a very competent, experienced and necessarily insistent professional with a delightful inquisitive, supportive personality and a genuine concern for her patients as they recover. I could not be more pleased.
00:41 28 Mar 18
I worked with Moussia after a being diagnosed with a TFCC tear in the left wrist and she was incredibly helpful with my recovery. After our visits were completed and we met all of our strength goals, she has been kind enough to stay in touch and sent me a home exercise plan to further strengthen my wrist. Your hands are in good hands with Moussia and Park Sports!

I've had a wonderful experience at Metro Sportsmed in Park Slope. I've worked with Jamie and Ethan to strengthen my neck / shoulders /back in order to alleviate on-going pain. The staff are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and have helped me build a routine to manage and reduce my pain. I would highly recommend this practice.

I shattered my radius bone and fractured the ulna bone in my wrist. I have been going to Moussia Krinsky for the past few months. I cannot talk enough positive about her. Everything about her marks excellence. Besides for her brilliance and expertise, her warm and caring nature make it a pleasure to come back to every week. She literally has golden hands. When you see people going from not being able to make a fist to being fully functional in a few months you know it was worth the effort. I rate her with a five star assessment. Shayna Brown

5.0 star rating 10/24/2017I have been going to Park Sports Physical Therapy for just over two years now - first for PT following my knee replacements and most recently for hand therapy after I fractured my wrist. I worked with Nicole for most of this time - she is truly amazing - helpful, encouraging, thorough and effective (and with a great sense of humor). Boris has been helping me with my wrist, and he is a great hand therapist - gentle and knowledgeable, and also with a great sense of humor. The new facility at 142 Prospect Park West is bright, airy, spacious and well-equipped - a big step up from the old facility at Garfield Place. I strongly recommend this place if you need help getting back to normal after surgery or after an injury. They are wonderful!

Park Sports PT is a wonderful facility. Friendly staff. A calm, open, well lit space to work on PT, and a very supportive team of physical therapists. I highly recommend Kristen. I worked with her after tearing my ACL last year. Following surgery she helped me set my recovery goals and clearly explained the road ahead in PT. She is positive, motivating, and challenging and I'm happy to share that that I'm back running, biking and playing soccer after working with her. She is a great example of the kind of service and motivation you receive at Park Sports PT.

Nicole at Union Street has been helping me with hip, back, and neck problems. She is miraculous! I was barely walking when I started with her in October. Now I am about to resume ballet. It is a long, slow process and includes lots of "homework" if you want to make progress. The people I meet there are most congenial. I highly recommend her for physical therapy of any kind. She is very professional and knowledgable.

This review is long overdue. I received physical therapy treatment at Park Sports for about 3 months following a pretty traumatic forearm and collarbone fracture. I was referred to Park Sports by my ortho surgeon, who secretly told me under his breath that they were the best in the area. I'm a skeptical and cynical person by nature, so I took his comment with a grain of salt. I am proud to admit I was very wrong to be so doubting. I would recommend them any day.I worked primarily with Boris and Victor, splitting my work with them pretty equally. Each offered so much of his individual knowledge and experience, I immediately felt comfortable, trusting and confident working with them. With my injury, I experienced so much post-op pain, some emotional trauma from my accident and lost almost complete range of motion in my dominant arm at the wrist. At times it didn't seem possible I'd regain full use of my hand/arm again. Through measured and regimented exercises they prescribed, I was able to regain nearly 100% mobility with no pain. And it wasn't just the exercises. The most significant aspect of my physical therapy experience was the hands-on massage of my forearm at the surgical site. I won't lie, sometimes it was pretty uncomfortable, but they never pushed it to the point where it was too much or too painful. It was absolutely necessary in order to break up the scar tissue that had formed, and in doing so, not only did it help loosen up my joints, I believe in some way, it released some of the trauma of my accident. I always felt after any of my sessions the following day refreshed and more physically and emotionally mobile.FYI, the administrative staff are superb - they streamlined the work so well. They managed my insurance company efficiently and kept me up to speed with the status of all my sessions.Obviously I had a great team of surgeons and nurses that got me through the initial phase of my recovery. But I have Park Sports PT to thank for that crucial last bit that got me back whole again. Like I said up top, I'd recommend them any day.Professional, competent, knowledgeable, and compassionate.
