I decided to try Back in Action PT after my daughter, Dana Jarmon, had a very good experience there. I wasn't aware that I could go to PT without an order (if your insurance allows). I've had nagging back problems for years, and a physical job with long hours at times, so I thought I would see if they could help.My PT, Rebecca, took a patient and thorough history, did a very detailed assessment, and started me on some exercises that immediately improved my back. We also worked on some knee problems I was having, again starting with a thorough exam (I know she is thorough because I am a PA and was trained to do many of these exams), and an exercise to strengthen my knee. She's even made some videos of the exercises that were very helpful. She even helped me with how I was doing my weightlifting exercises to protect/strengthen my back and legs.I've had a great experience overall, and would recommend anyone to go to Back in Action if you have any acute or chronic problems.

I can’t say enough good things about this place other than from day 1 I have been treated Like family and in todays ever changing world it’s hard to find people who actually care but from the front desk to the physical therapist that help I can say this is the place to be if you need help in any way. I personally recommend Rebecca in Fuquay Varina as one of the best. She not only treats you with respect but she genuinely cares that she is giving you the care you need in every way she can.

13:09 24 Aug 22
Rachel was so helpful. I came in with a lot of pain and had very limited mobility, by the time I left I felt way better and I'm no longer in pain. If you have any doubts about what PT to go to, I wouldn't hesitate to go to back in action!

The physical therapist (Greg) is very knowledgeable, designed exercises exactly to improve my end-stage deteriorated hip, and is preparing me for a faster post-surgical recovery after I have a total hip replacement. He has you vigorously exercise at a pace suited to your situation. I highly recommend him. Dr. Tomi MacDonough, Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D.), retired from the Army, retired from the VA, and then was a civilian contractor for the Army for six years.

I was referred to Back in Action by a good friend who had used their services last year. I have been very happy with my Physical Therapist she is good at keeping it interesting, fun yet hard enough that I am getting better quickly. I broke both bones in my right leg and they are healing well and I am getting around better and faster than initially anticipated.

Thank you to Brandon (really cool person who cares a lot about his clients and you can tell he enjoys what he does) who gave me back my shoulder pain free! Honestly didn’t think it would be so fast to get back to no pain and full range of movement in my shoulder! Highly recommend!
15:44 01 Sep 21
Greg has been a great PT, treating me after shoulder replacement surgery. He is very patient and also very informative. He was wonderful at explaining the various procedures used at the facility and recommended for home. He also was helpful in helping me to set expectations, and what NOT to do during the therapy period. My shoulder is in the best condition its been in many years. I learned a lot about my condition and will be returning for therapy for a recent foot surgery. Also, even though I’m an Ohio State Buckeye, I will never hold against him that he’s from Michigan. He’s a good Spartan.

I have been seeing Greg with Back In Action for years now. Over 10 years ago I had a back operation that now needs another operation but for now he is helping me strengthen muscles and trying to alleviate pain associated with my back. He also did dry needling on me and what worked wonders!! I was super nervous about that but he walked me through the whole thing.I will always be a Back In Action customer! Highly Recommend!!
02:53 13 Feb 21
Greg has been an excellent therapist knowing exactly how to treat my back issues. From 2015 to June 2020, I have had 5 major back surgeries at the Mayo Clinic fusing 19 vertebras with a series of rods and screws. At 80 years old these surgeries have weakened lower back muscles considerably resulting in serious lower back pain.In less than two months of therapy at Back in Action my pain frequency has measurably decreased plus my low back strength is increasing a lot. I am looking forward to completely ridding myself of the lower back pain over time. Thanks to Greg and all the staff at Back in Action. They are super nice and highly skilled people.
18:36 12 Feb 21
Greg at Back In Action physical therapy has been amazing. I have had to go here a few times for multiple issues over the last 2 years or so now, and Greg has always been up to the task. From a knee problem to a shoulder issue. He is extremely thorough in trying to figure out exactly what the cause of your problem is. If something is not particularly successful he will reevaluate and try something different.Again I have been here multiple times for different issues and keep getting Greg as my PT; however, I couldn't recommend a better one if you need help. I would recommend Back In Action to anyone young or old that has a problem or you think you have one. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars!!!
13:59 12 Feb 21
A professional, knowledgeable and caring staff. I required PT after two major orthopedic surgeries and attribute my fast recovery to these good people. Greg and Kurt not only provide a high level of clinical care but also offer a wealth of knowledge to the patient helping them gain a better understanding of the rehabilitation process.
21:07 11 Feb 21
I have been receiving care from back in action for a year or so now and the service has been excellent. Laura is very professional and has giving me her up most attention on Physical therapy needs from back issues, tennis elbow and most recently a total hip replacement.Mike Hart

I spent 14 months twice a week. From a traumatic injury of my left leg and ankle with rod and pins . LAURA is very professional and knows her profession very well. Would recommend her very highly ,She is the reason today I can walk with out a limp ,and minimal discomfort, she was a blessing.
20:09 11 Feb 21
Laura at Back in Action is fantastic! She is personable, kind, and knows what she is doing.
19:52 11 Feb 21
Brandon is an awesome caring and very kind and gentle physical therapist. He really cares about the individual needs of his patients. I will recommend him to all my friends and family if they need physical therapy.
17:43 11 Feb 21
I recently had knee surgery and have been doing PT with Brandon at BIA at Fuquay. PT has helped me so much since week 1, from learning how to walk with crutches, to re-learning how to walk without crutches. Every week when I go to PT, Brandon has an array of exercise for me to learn. He has filled my toolbox with targeted exercises for my specific needs to fully recover my range of motion, strength, and stability. Brandon is the best because he always asks if I have any concerns (i'm an overthinker so I always do) and he always finds a solution for me! Thank you!
17:24 11 Feb 21
If you are looking for a kind and caring PT, go see Laura at Back in Action. She listens to your concerns and crafts a realistic action plan with the goal of getting you back on your feet and pain free. Plus she has a great sense of humor!
16:36 11 Feb 21
Laura is amazing! Super knowledgeable and helpful. She treated my back and ever since, it’s been feeling great. She always has a great attitude. Best PT around. Definitely would recommend her to anyone!
15:49 11 Feb 21
Brandon was great, he took the time to customize my plan to meet my needs and address my specfic problems. He understood my concerns and listened before making a determination and plan. Thanks Brandon
15:17 11 Feb 21
Back In Action has been my go to Physcial therapy source for years. Most recently Laura helped me work through Plantar Fascitis. Don’t suffer needlessly! Go see her! She identified some long standing problems with my gait which not only helped the plantar fascitis but helped my hip too. Thanks Laura!!
15:00 11 Feb 21
Laura is a great physical therapist! She has helped me get back to being active again! Highly recommend her!
14:48 11 Feb 21
I have worked with Laura on two different occasions and loved her. She helped me a great deal after my knee replacement and then again a few years later for my other knee. The facility is always clean, friendly, and close to my home.
14:28 11 Feb 21
My experiences with Back in Action have been incredible. Brandon pushed me but also listens and addresses all of my concerns as I prepared for and am now recovering from total knee replacement. He suggests what I can do at home to further progress my recovery without new injuries. He has been very flexible in meeting my scheduling conflicts and I am looking forward to a complete recovery and will definitely want to work with Brandon and the other therapists at Back in Action with any future mishaps.
12:37 11 Feb 21
Laura has treated me on three occasions for neck/shoulder issues, knee issues and shoulder problems. She offers a professional, thorough and effective treatment plan in a caring, encouraging and positive manner. She truly has gifted hands and knows her stuff! I highly recommend her!
22:54 04 Feb 21
Greg is a caring, gentle man, and he knows when to push and when to pull back. I was leery of going out during this pandemic, and Greg gave me a list of exercises to do at home to make sure my recovery progressed on schedule. He really is the best.Plus, it helps that he is from my home state, Michigan!
23:04 03 Feb 21
Laura was an immense help with my dizziness and balance issues. She was knowledgeable, patient, listened to my concerns and was able to diagnose my problem and offer exercises to help me. I am very grateful for her professional advise which was very helpful to allow me to resume many of my daily activities.

Hi! Everyone, wanted to share my experience attending Back in Action.I'm a current service member in the Army. I was injured during training and had to pick from a list of locations to receive back therapy. I picked Back in Action being that was the closest location at the time to my residence.I started receiving back therapy with Megan. I can not even find the words to explain how amazing of a therapist she is. Within the first sessions I felt I was making progress to my recovery. I won't lie some of the exercises were challenging that made me a little sore but I was good to go the following day. What I loved about my sessions and working with Megan that not only was she helping me recover but also that she was educating me along the way to better my health and life in general. Every session was a step closer to my recovery. She helped me a lot and I was able to continue on my missions. Also, when making appointments she was helpful and flexible with accommodating around my work schedule.Even though I do not live in that area now, I plan to go back for my therapy needs, even if I have to drive far. As a soldier I have to stay fit and ready and I trust Megan and Back in Action to take care of me, so I can do my job, to serve my country🇺🇸 Thank you Megan, and all of the great staff

I have turned to Back in Action PT group twice in the last few years. The first time in 2016 after total knee replacement and Greg was my therapist. He did a great job, was caring and considerate, and gave me a new "leg to stand on". Of recent I have been under the care of Dr. Brandon Langworthy, a most kind, caring and equally considerate young man. I had developed a very debilitating case of neuropathy along with carpal tunnel syndrome that kept me from being able to do most things physical. We worked together for a long time and he was able to give me a new lease on life with better balance, increased strength, and stamina. Even when Covid has interfered he was very generous to meet with me virtually and provide me with exercises that I could do at home. He was very encouraging without being a taskmaster and I was glad for his sensitivity to my needs. Since I have had long experience with them and EVERYONE I have been in contact with is just great, I think BIA is THE best PT group around!
16:22 03 Feb 21
Laura is amazing. We first worked together when my arthritic knee went out. She had me back moving comfortably in a few weeks. After that she took care of my shoulder, a hip strain, my husband’s balance issues and his recovery from a fractured pelvis. I have often said she is putting us back together one body part at a time. She pushed us both as much as necessary but never left us sore and aching. And although we are no longer in therapy she is still keeping a watchful eye out when she sees us at the gym.
15:59 03 Feb 21
I had back surgery in 2018 and after being home one day ended up back in the hospital with a blood clot in the surgery area. A second surgery was done to remove the blood clot and 3 days later when I left the hospital I went into Rex Rehab for 2 weeks. After leaving Rex Rehab I still needed PT and was told about Back in Action. I went there and Brandon was assigned to my case. From the first day you could tell his heart was in his job and he truly cared about his patients. He has worked with me ever since never giving up on me. His knowledge of his job, encouragement, and caring is truly a blessing of which I am most grateful!
14:19 03 Feb 21
Dr. Laura was fantastic helping my daughter to recover properly after the surgery. She was thorough, punctual, and fun too. Wile collaborating greatly with my daughter’s surgeon, Dr. Laura put my baby back on her feet in no time and made sure my child is ready for her athletic adventures :) Thank you, Back in Action!
13:42 03 Feb 21
My daughter and I love Laura. She's smart, funny, a creative thinker and having undergone two ACL surgeries herself, we feel she's the perfect match for my 16 now 17 year old rehabbing an ACL. We've been with Laura for about 6 months as my daughter works her way back to playing volleyball for her high school this fall. Rehab is going great. Laura challenges my daughter every visit, but is careful to avoid physical discomfort and set-backs. In one example, my daughter strained her calf and Laura used needle therapy to get her going quickly to maintain the progress she'd made. We trust Laura with every aspect of my daughter's rehab and as we near the end we'll both miss her humor, her training, her guidance, her feedback on my daughter's technique and her positive approach to making the best out of an otherwise tough journey.
02:42 03 Feb 21
Greg is the best PT I have ever had. Multiple knee surgery and he got me back the quickest and ready for the sports I wanted to participate in.........Basketball and cycling still going strong! Thanks Greg!!
02:07 03 Feb 21
Greg is my family’s physical therapist! Along with myself he has treated my Mom, sister and fiancé.He treated me after both knees were replaced, a reverse shoulder replacement, after lap surgery on the other shoulder and did dry needling of both shoulders. He is professional, caring, funny, motivating and will push you to achieve the best level you can! On top of that he’s a nice guy!
01:41 03 Feb 21
Laura is Amazing.. be prepared to work!
01:33 03 Feb 21
Greg helped me recover from a total knee replacement. He is very skilled and knowledgeable. My recovery went very well. I have had issues for over 30 years caused by a car accident. Thanks to Greg I have full mobility and a lot of strength.
00:51 03 Feb 21
Had to with Greg on two occasions. I had both knees replaced due to degenerative arthritis. Greg is very patient. I had many exercises to do and some took me many times to perfect them. He is very innovative in coming up with other ways to do the therapy so that I could be successful . Thanks again.
00:46 03 Feb 21
Laura is amazing. I came in with on a doctor's referral with plantar fasciitis, convinced that my feet were ruined. Laura fixed it. I mean, first she had to tell me alllllllll the other things that were wrong with me (apparently I only THOUGHT I was walking evenly...) but she did it in a way that made me laugh instead of cry. I continued seeing her until she had me back up and literally running. When a healthcare provider can make you look forward to your sessions, you know they're doing something right.
00:44 03 Feb 21
I’m writing at the request of my husband, Richard. Megan has been working with him for a number of months and is a great encouragement to him. She makes exercise enjoyable and he looks forward to their sessions. Richard gives her a rank of 5 out of 5! Thanks for all you do, Megan.
00:36 03 Feb 21
Megan Barrett is knowledgeable, positive, gentle, encouraging, compassionate and kind. A great asset to Back In Action!
00:33 03 Feb 21
I am so thankful for Laura--I was recommended to her by another PT. Laura is a PT for athletes--as she is one herself--and it shows. I began PT with her about a week after injury (hip) as she helped me regain some motion and strength before surgery, and, once I am discharged, it will be about a 8ish month journey with her (due to the surgical procedure it requires quite a bit of rehab and my goal is to get back to my Crossfit box). Her willingness to listen, empathize, while paying attention to details (like a face grimace) but still challenge you is great. She cares so much for her patients, and is so detailed in writing up my daily exercises for me to do on my own and she is one of the loudest cheerleaders I have. You aren't handed off to an aide at BIA, which is pretty amazing, and makes a HUGE difference in recovery. Highly recommend Laura and BIT!!
23:44 02 Feb 21
Had a pretty extensive knee surgery before the new year but Brandon has not only worked with my schedule but has really focused on getting the most out of each PT session in order for me to achieve my goals in a quick but effective way. He really tailors every exercise and treatment modality to my needs and abilities. Highly recommend!
23:06 02 Feb 21
I’ve been so blessed to have Laura as my therapist for the past 4 months to help after major rotator cuff surgery. She is very caring plus challenges me in ways that make we want to excel. I could never had made the progress without her caring nature and pushing me to keep going.
23:01 02 Feb 21
Laura is the best and I love going to her any time that I need! 100% recommend!!
22:47 02 Feb 21
March of 2019 I had two disc bulged in my back. After going to doctors and specialist physical therapy was an option before they did surgery. So I joined Back in Action in July of 2019, it was the best decision I have done. Laura is my therapist and she has been wonderful and so knowledgeable. She took her time to get to know what was wrong and we made a plan of action, twice a week she would push me and after a few months of water therapy I moved to regular land therapy. Every time I came to an appointment she would ask how I was feeling and would change the days plans based on how I was feeling. Laura was always there when I needed her to help with a random pain or to make sure I was on track. Without her kindness, knowledge and understanding I don't know where I would be. If you have any issues Back in Action is the place to be and Laura is your therapist you need, but they are all so knowledge and you won't be disappointed by anyone that works here.
22:37 02 Feb 21
Issues with my lower back and two bone on bone knees. When Laura first accessed me could not make one lap around the inside track.Very hard for me to walk or stand for more than a few minutes.Laura paced me to reach goals and had me improving with every visit.By my 30th and last visit I made it around the track five and a half laps with some light jogging on last lap.The STAFF is Delightful,Laura is a Bright,Funny, always smiling who is firm but fair Therapist.Highly Recommend Back In Action.

They pay close attention to your issues, concerns and work to directly address those issues, not to waste your time and money.Sean just recently provided me a complete reset to my aching body through dry needling therapy. Great full for his immediate intervention to correct! Feel much better now!Highly recommend either one!

Greg is amazing. He literally saved my life but that’s a story in itself. And I do mean literally. And the entire staff is very friendly & professional.I recommended BIA & Greg to my Doctors.

My time with Dr. Laura Wilson was well spent as she helped strength my shoulder & neck muscles. Appreciated her sense of humor as I struggledto regain my body. I would recommend Dr. Laura to anyone.Sincerely, Bobbie Rhodes

I started going to Back in Action at Clubworx in Fuquay-Varina because it's located within a fitness center I intended to join. When I saw the surgeon who was to do a knee replacement for me I asked him about PT prior to surgery because I felt that my legs were very weak. He recommended it, and Dr. Laura Wilson and I met and decided on a course of action. She was always on the ball with suggestions for improvement and progression. I was back with her five days post surgery and she held my hand when I was discouraged, always pushing me just a bit to improve strength and bending. Her positive attitude was very encouraging to me; and, having had a number of other PTs over the years I know she is skilled and knowledgeable, and interested in helping her patients go as far as possible. The young woman, Chelsea, who was training with her from Campbell University's PT School will also go far.

Greg is a fantastic PT!! I had been suffering with lower back & hip pain since right before the birth of my youngest, almost 5 years. It prevented me from working out and ached at night, which did not make for good sleep. Doctors said they couldn’t find anything wrong. My chiropractor recommended I try PT, specifically Back in Action. I saw Greg and began to feel relief after the very first appointment! My only regret was that I waited so long. The staff is fun, compassionate and informative. It took a bit to get an initial appointment, but was worth the wait. Highly recommend!
23:47 05 Jun 19
I was sent to another so called "Physical therapy" group and was very disaapointed in thier methods and thier attitude. I requested a change to Back In Action and I am so glad I did. Greg took the time to listen to my concerns and he motivated me to do the best I could both pre and post surgery. I observed all of the therapist really engaging with thier patients both young and old. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
14:33 31 May 19
After rotator cuff surgery I picked Back In Action based on their reviews and location, and they did not disappoint. Greg is an excellent PT and the whole staff is very nice and welcoming. I highly recommend them without reservation.

My name is Ashley Vandervelde, and I just recently had the opportunity to train with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, James Wilson, Jr. What brought me to the program where I learned better techniques, strength and mobility, was being a member of CrossFit Pathway. I am training 3-5 days a week at CrossFit Pathway and have been there since October.Technique, mobility and proper form is everything. Making sure you're doing things properly can greatly improve your workouts-at any gym you attend. Whether you're doing basic exercise to stay healthy to being a professional Olympic Lifter-your form can make or break you! Luckily for me, James Wilson, Jr. was running a special for a class called, OLY 101. I quickly jumped on the opportunity knowing that I would greatly benefit learning from James. From my first day to the last, James's professional attitude and genuine care for athletes blew me away! Also, his knowledge far surpassed my expectations. It was a 6 week class and we met once a week. In between I still attended my CrossFit classes; I must say, my form and technique improved drastically; even after our first class! I could also rest assured that I would not hurt myself doing movements improperly because I had been spending some much needed time with James. After our 6 week class ended, I also wanted to make sure that my hard work was still being maintained thru Back In Action Physical Therapy. Well, also lucky for me Back In Action Physical Therapy is located at the gym I attended and was just what I needed to make sure that the hard work I was putting in continued to pay off. I have some tight upper body muscles and mobility issues that I needed to make sure we're being taken care of so that I could continue to be healthy. They offer dry needling-a technique that uses extremely tiny needles to penetrate a muscle tat is chronically tight and giving you pain. Amanda, at Back In Action Physical Therapy is absolutely amazing! She is a life saver and the dry needling is the only thing that has given me comfort. I have tried it all-this is it. I highly recommend this technique to anyone in pain and discomfort when all else has failed.I feel so blessed to have been able to work with James Wilson, Jr. and Amanda thru Back In Action Physical Therapy. My technique with lifting weights has improved far beyond my expectations and my mobility and physical wellness is improving weekly! I would highly recommend taking advantage of them!

OLY-101 with James Wilson Strength and Conditioning Coach Back In Action Physical Therapy. After transitioning from PT to a focus on Strength and Conditioning with Coach James Wilson, BIA and James offered it's members an introductory class on Olympic Weightlifting (AKA OLY-101). As an avid Crossfitter prior to a severe ankle injury from a car accident and being out of the Crossfit arena for more than a year, I looked at OLY-101 as a golden opportunity to progress and refine my OLY technique and improve my overall functional fitness.Over the last 6 weeks being a part of the James Wilson OLY-101 class has improved my lifting abilities, technique and functional movement drastically. James' knowledge, passion, persona, attention to detail and drive to help people improve there fitness regardless of physical ability makes James by far, one of the "Absolute Best Coaches" I have ever had the honor and privilege to work and train with!!!! I simply and honestly can't say enough great things about James, he is just a "GREAT" Coach!!!!With that said, if your looking to improve general fitness or an experienced athlete looking to refine your skills or improve functional movement or just get better, go see James Wilson at Back In Action.Don't wait to long to get your training in with James, he is a talent that will undoubtedly get scooped up by the best of the best and will undoubtedly be the next Sports Performance / Strength and Conditioning sensation.

Can't say enough about the excellent care I have received from Dr Laura Wilson at Back in Action. She has helped immensely to help me strengthen muscles which have lessened my knee pain and to improve mobility. It still amazes me to see how much can be done without having to resort to medicine/pain killers!
