Residency Programs

Ivy Rehab offers nine orthopedic and pediatric residency programs. Our industry-leading post-professional programs include 1:1 mentoring, intensive in-person learning, and robust evidence-based didactic curricula. The overarching purpose of our residency programs is to elevate our teammates to practice at an advanced clinician level and to prepare them for specialty certification. Our residency programs are open to current teammates, practicing providers outside of Ivy Rehab, and graduating students.

Ivy ensures the professional development and growth of every teammate centered around exceptional patient care. We partner with the best and brightest in the industry through academic and institutional partnerships with a shared commitment to clinical excellence. Multiple programs are in partnership with HSS, the nations leading orthopedic hospital. This unique collaboration provides our teams with best-in-class training, hands-on treatment techniques, and cohort-based learning designed to develop top-tier clinicians through the program.

 


 

  • Hand Residency

    The Ivy Hand Residency is a 12-month clinical program that provides an accelerated pathway for clinicians to become advanced hand and upper extremity rehabilitation practitioners and prepares them to sit for the Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) exam. The curriculum focuses on higher-level clinical reasoning, differential diagnosis, and the acquisition of advanced manual therapy skills. The well-rounded curriculum is designed to be delivered in a hybrid format so any therapist across the company can participate and could elevate their practice.

  • Oncology Residency

    The Ivy Oncology Residency Program is a one-year, clinically based program focusing on the oncology patient’s unique aspects of comprehensive rehabilitation throughout the cancer journey: prehab, active medical management, survivorship, and the surveillance period. Residents learn how to create patient profiles, anticipate patient needs based on the medical management plan, and provide evidence-based interventions to manage the side effects of treatment and the direct impact of the disease process. A systems approach is emphasized for evaluation, collaborative treatment planning, and patient education, focusing on stabilizing and optimizing patient function.

  • Orthopedic Residency

    The Ivy HSS Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency provides a structured and robust didactic curriculum to enhance clinical reasoning and advance skills while incorporating the most recent evidence-based practices. This program utilizes a blended delivery model for our didactic curriculum that includes online self-study modules, live online learningvirtual grand rounds, journal club, case review, independent study, and live in-person weekend courses that are to be completed throughout this comprehensive 12-month residency program.  

  • Pediatric Occupational Therapy

    The Ivy Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency is a one-year, full-time, clinically based program created to excel in the professional development of clinicians in the field of Pediatric Physical Therapy. Expert clinicians will serve as faculty to guide, instruct and mentor each resident in developing advanced knowledge and clinical expertise throughout the residency program. Additionally, the residency program prepares residents to complete the ABPTS Pediatric Certified Specialist (PCS) examination. Each resident must complete all assigned didactic material and written and practical examinations.

  • Pediatric Physical Therapy

    The Ivy Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency is a one-year, full-time, clinically based program created to excel in the professional development of clinicians in the field of Pediatric Physical Therapy. Expert clinicians will serve as faculty to guide, instruct and mentor each resident in developing advanced knowledge and clinical expertise throughout the residency program. Additionally, the residency program prepares residents to complete the ABPTS Pediatric Certified Specialist (PCS) examination. Each resident must complete all assigned didactic material and written and practical examinations.

  • Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology Residency

    The Ivy Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology Residency is a one-year, full-time, clinically based program created to excel in the professional development of clinicians in the field of pediatric speechlanguage pathologyEncompassing topics across the field of pediatric speechlanguage pathology, including oral motor skills/feeding, childhood apraxia of speech, autism, augmentative and alternative communication, childhood language and articulation disorders, executive functioning, and pragmatic language to grow clinical skills and provide quality care. The residency program will also provide the recommended continuing education hours and mentorship to facilitate the application process through the American Board of Child Language and Language Disorders (ABCLLD) for board recognition as a specialist in child language and language disorders when clinicians are eligible. 

  • Pelvic Health

    The Ivy Pelvic Health Residency is a one-year, full-time, clinically based program created to excel the professional development of clinicians in the field of Pelvic Health Therapy. Experienced clinicians will serve as faculty to guide, instruct and mentor each participant in developing advanced knowledge and clinical expertise for the duration of the program.  The program will also prepare each clinician for their Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) through Herman and Wallace.  Each participant is expected to complete all assigned didactic material. There will also be operational components to the program that will enable and empower each participant to implement a Pelvic Health service line into their clinic successfully.  

  • Sports Physical Therapy Residency

    The Ivy HSS Sports Physical Therapy Residency is a one-year, full-time, clinically based program created to contribute to clinicians’ professional development in the field of Sports Physical Therapy. Expert clinicians will serve as faculty mentors to guide each resident in developing advanced knowledge and clinical expertise throughout the residency program to help residents earn their ABPTS Sports Certified Specialist (SCS).

  • Vestibular Residency

    The Ivy Vestibular Residency Program has a weekly outline of the program curriculum and assignments utilizing an online learning management system. The structured program curriculum includes didactic content delivered through virtual courses and learning opportunitiesin-person courses, textbooks, and current research with the support of a vestibular mentor.
