Serving Homeless Veterans: Ivy Rehab’s Commitment to Community

At Ivy Rehab, our commitment to community extends far beyond the walls of our clinics. Last week’s Directors’ Summit in Washington, DC, was not just a gathering of Ivy leaders—it was a powerful demonstration of our core values in action. As we met to discuss business strategies and what the future holds, we took the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country: homeless veterans.

Partnering with Impact 4 Good and Veterans on the Rise, the Ivy team came together in the Stand Down for Homeless Veterans program to support and uplift the homeless veteran community in DC. Impact 4 Good is a renowned organization dedicated to facilitating corporate social responsibility initiatives. Veterans on the Rise is a local non-profit committed to supplying vital resources and support to homeless veterans. Our goal was to provide essential care and comfort to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.

During the summit, Ivy rallied its 675 teammates to assemble and donate 1,780 hygiene care kits, along with 85 blankets and 85 sets of hats and gloves. Team members gathered in small groups to pack each kit with care, including heartfelt notes conveying messages of gratitude and solidarity to the veterans who would receive them.

Patrick Watson, VP of Operations, Mid-Atlantic, expressed his profound appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cause. As a veteran himself, with a deep-rooted connection to the military community, Patrick emphasized the personal significance of this initiative. He remarked, “I’m grateful that Ivy Rehab provided us with the platform to make a real impact on the lives of homeless veterans in DC. As someone who has served and comes from a military family, this cause is close to my heart.”

At Ivy Rehab, we believe in leveraging our collective strength to support those in need. In addition to the Stand Down for Homeless Veterans program, we held a raffle to benefit Fisher House Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting military and veteran families by providing housing close to medical facilities during times of medical crisis. Through the generosity of our team members, we raised over $40,000 to further support this cause.

Serve others. Do the right thing. Love what you do. These core values were at the heart of our service activities and reflect our deep commitment to making a positive difference in the communities where our team members and patients live. Together, we continue to advance our mission of inspiring and enabling others to live life to the fullest.
