Ivy Rehab HSS Physical Therapy Center of Excellence Opens New Facility in Hamden, CT Led by Dr. Julianne Munda 

Ivy Rehab HSS Physical Therapy Center of Excellence in Hamden, Connecticut, is now open! The clinic is located at 2335 Dixwell Avenue, in the Stop and Shop Plaza. Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and Ivy Rehab have partnered to jointly open these Centers of Excellence, featuring a wide range of equipment and services with highly trained therapists providing world-class care.     

“There are many measures that we have in place to establish and maintain the highest level of clinical care throughout our partnerships,” said JeMe Cioppa-Mosca, Senior Vice President of HSS Rehabilitation. “We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together with Ivy Rehab and look forward to growing our collective legacy to ensure patients receive outstanding care where it’s convenient to them-in places where they work and live.” 

Dr. Julianne Munda, PT, DPT, GCS, CEEAA, LSVT-C, serves as the Clinic Director and Physical Therapist at the new Hamden, CT, facility.  

“I am extremely excited to serve Hamden and its surrounding communities after recently relocating to this area,” said Julianne. “I look forward to providing top-notch physical therapy services and patient-centered care to my friends, family, and neighbors to allow them to continue living their lives to the fullest. Having this opportunity to bring this to my community and build lasting relationships means so much to me.”  

Dr. Julianne “Juls” Munda graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Misericordia University in 2017 and began as a staff physical therapist in Waterbury, CT, and Wallingford, CT, in 2018.  

Juls has worked on developing and implementing a comprehensive fall prevention and treatment program company-wide to improve patient outcomes and quality of life for patients with concussions and vestibular dysfunction, neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, and geriatrics.    

She is a compassionate, high-energy, and attentive clinician. She is committed to ongoing education to deliver high-quality, holistic care to help her patients achieve their goals. She is dedicated to her craft, treating everyone from young athletes to orthopedic injuries to older adults, utilizing evidence-based treatments to provide an individualized plan of care. She has always been passionate about working with older adults and helping athletes of all ages, especially recovering after surgeries.   

Juls continues to stay active in the sports community by refereeing youth and travel soccer games. She is also dedicated to educating the community about the benefits of physical therapy, especially in the geriatric population, and giving back to the community through fundraisers and charity organizations.  

Ivy Rehab HSS Physical Therapy CoE in Hamden, CT, will provide treatments that include AlterG Anti Gravity Treadmill, balance and fall prevention, chronic pain, lymphedema, vestibular therapy, soft tissue mobilization, orthopedic therapy, post-surgical treatment, and much more.
