GRAND HAVEN, MICHIGAN, June 12, 2019 — Generation Care, a local rehabilitation and wellness center, hosts their third annual RunSTRONG 5k.

On Friday, July 12, 2019, Generation Care will be holding their third annual RunSTRONG® 5k event at 16760 Lincoln St.— their Grand Haven clinic location. The event will include a Tot Trot for younger children and a 5k option for all other participants, on a USATF certified course. All ages, walkers, and strollers are welcome. Age group awards and monetary prizes will be awarded to the overall top three female and top three male participants. The Tot Trot will begin at 6:45 PM and the run will begin at 7 PM. A post-race party will follow the run.

All proceeds from this year’s race will benefit North Ottawa Community Hospital’s Pediatric Rehabilitation Program. The program offers physical, occupational and speech therapy for children. The price per participant is currently $28 but will increase to $33 on June 28, 2019

“Last year’s event was a huge success,” shares Race Director, Lauren L’Huillier. “We had over 200 runners last year with proceeds benefitting the non-profit, MyTEAM TRIUMPH.” L’Huillier is a physical therapist with Generation Care and is also the leader of the RunSTRONG classes held at Generation Care’s clinics. RunSTRONG is a strength and conditioning program designed specifically for runners to decrease injury risk and improve performance.
