Physical Therapy Services in NJ has Joined the Ivy Rehab Family!

Ivy Rehab is excited to announce that Physical Therapy Services is now part of the family. For nearly 40 years, they’ve been providing rehabilitation services to the Salem and Cumberland county regions, with two locations in Bridgeton and Elmer, New Jersey. Physical Therapy Services promotes highly skilled, hands-on care. Each physical therapist on their team is an experienced, community-driven specialist that is passionate about every patient’s road to recovery. They follow their patients closely each session to provide the highest quality care, with evidence-based programs and successful outcomes.  The team specializes in the treatment of all orthopedic injuries, spinal injuries using the McKenzie method of treatment, sports injuries, vestibular rehabilitation, industrial rehabilitation, postoperative care, aquatic therapy, and geriatrics.

Basil Ingemi, PT, MS, Cert. MDT, is the clinic director for the Bridgeton facility. He’s a native to Cumberland County and grew up in Bridgeton, New Jersey.  He is a proud graduate of Woodland Country Day School and St. Augustine Prep High School.  Basil earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cabrini College in 1989 and went on to Beaver College (Arcadia University) earning his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1992.  As a licensed Physical Therapist, he has 26 years of experience treating patients in a variety of settings including hospital inpatient, nursing home, and outpatient orthopedics.  Basil sees a variety of patients including orthopedic, industrial injuries, post-operative and sports-related injuries.  Basil is currently the only physical therapist certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the spine in Cumberland County.

James Shimp, PT, MPT, Cert. MDT is the Clinic Director for the Elmer, NJ facility. He graduated from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in May of 1993 with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. James has 25 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics, and in May 2007, he became the only McKenzie MDT Certified physical therapist in Salem County. James specializes in McKenzie evaluation and treatment of spinal dysfunction, aquatic therapy, sports injuries, TMJ dysfunction, manual therapy, and vestibular disorders. Has developed programs for the management of osteoporosis, geriatric wellness, industrial rehabilitation, aquatic therapy, and Part B Medicare home care. James is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, NJ Physical Therapy Association, orthopedic section of APTA, Elmer United Methodist Church, former coach for Bridgeton Midget Football and West Cumberland Little League.  In his spare time, James coaches Little League Softball in his local Elmer community.
