What we treat

I saw Sarah in May after rapidly losing my hearing in my right ear. At the time, I was struggling emotionally, mentally and physically and frustrated with a lack of a plan towards improvement from my ENT. Sarah assessed me the first day, talked me through what was happening and how we were going to over the course of the next weeks systematically strengthen and recover my balance and general "Not Quite Right" foggy brain feeling (for anyone who is going through this they will understand). In addition to providing help during our sessions Sarah was quick to response / give support over email during those stressful early weeks. I'm extremely grateful I found this service, would use it again without question and highly recommend it to anyone with rehab / vestibular therapy needs. Thanks for everything Ivy Rehab Team!(Also, they just updated their flooring the the place looks great!)
I came to Ivy after spending time at another PT provider with no relief. I was suffering from intense TMJ pain and limited range of motion. As soon as I had my consult with Matt Aitken, I felt confident I had arrived at the right place and relieved. Matt is very knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. Within a relatively short amount of time, my pain decreased significantly. I also had a few sessions with Marissa, who provided the same level of exemplary care. I was discharged from Ivy with a manageable home care program and set up for success to manage any flare ups and improve my overall postural health. If I need PT in the future, I am coming back here. Office staff is very friendly as well.
I came to Sarah at IvyRehab for BPPV(positional vertigo). Sarah is extremely thorough and diagnosed that both the posterior tubes as well as horizontal were impacted… it took 4 sessions which I have to say were hard because vertigo impacts everything but it is now fixed… I am just mad that I waited so long to do it… would definitely recommend IvyRehab and Sarah P(vestibular certified therapist) in West Chester PA
Feel so much better. Matt Aitken is a great taskmaster with a heart of gold. !!!!
Met with Sarah at Ivy Rehab to help me recover from a bout of BPPV (random vertigo and spatial disorientation). After performing a neurogical exam and some tests, we determined I would need vestibular therapy. This is a series of guided exercises that takes about 20-30 minutes per session depending on your tolerance to complete the exercises which often trigger the vertigo and cause discomfort.I have very little tolerance for intense vertigo and suffer anxiety attacks in everyday life. I had a particularly rough anxiety attack during one of my sessions but Sarah was exceptionally understanding and patient with me! Her kindness and expertise really made a difference and gave me confidence that I would be able to endure the vertigo. I can now report after 4 sessions that my vertigo is completely resolved!Although you may require fewer or more sessions depending on the severity of your BPPV, I believe Sarah is the right person to help you overcome this condition. Her pleasant bedside manner is far beyond what I would expect from a physical therapist and reminds me of a veteran physician with decades of experience!I would not hesitate to return to Ivy Rehab for any type of physical therapy if needed in the future.Enthusiastic 5 Stars.
Sarah Pichini was a wonderful therapist for me. Knowledgeable, pleasant, encouraging.
The people at Ivyrehab are dedicated professionals who truly care about you. Marissa is a wonderful and skillful physical therapist who helped me get my knee back to normal. Thank you Ivyrehab and Marissa!
Matt was knowledgeable, kind and personable. I would be happy to work with him again. Thank you, Matt.
Thank you to Katie Rapp and all the other employees at Ivy Rehab. Not only therapeutic but an empathetic environment to help promote the return to a healthy limb.
My experience at Ivy rehab was excellent! Marissa is the best! The therapy was excellent and varied based on my needs. Scheduling was flexible and schedule accommodations were made for my needs. I will (and have) recommended Ivy Rehab and Marissa to many people!
The team at Ivy Rehab has been amazing. Everyone is so friendly, positive and uplifting. Sarah Pichini has been my vestibular therapist and has been nothing short of amazing. From the first day I walked in there she did a comprehensive assessment to evaluate my situation and baseline and then put together a comprehensive plan to retrain my vestibular system. My recovery has been longer than I anticipated but Sarah has been there every session dialing into how and what I’m feeling to continuously adjust her program to get me back to stability. She’s extremely patient but at the same time has an assertive way about her to get you through the exercises to ensure you get the desired outcome. I’d see Sarah for any type of physical therapy, but when it comes to Vestibular therapy there is no one more knowledgeable, experienced and passionate that gets results.
Everyone at Ivy Rehab was incredibly helpful and kind during my time at physical therapy. Katie was excellent to work with and always took the time to answer all of my questions and give me additional feedback and always made me feel like I, and my health, were of utmost importance to her. I would highly recommend both Katie and the Ivy team to anyone needing PT and should I find myself needing help in the future know that I’ll be choosing to return!
10/10 experience! I went in for a rotator cuff and bicep injury that had been lingering for a while. I saw Sarah, and in a number of sessions, my mobility and strength is pretty much back to 100%. I’ll continue to work on the movements at home with the exercises provided. Great facility and staff.
The entire staff at Ivy Rehab West Chester are very friendly, professional, and caring. You will feel like one of the team when you are there. I had the pleasure of working with Sarah Pachini and Matt Aitken and I cannot say enough amazing things about the treatment I received.Sarah was my primary PT. She is extremely knowledgeable and up-to-date on all the most recent research and treatment techniques, very professional, has a joyful personality, and a warm heart. I sustained a traumatic brain injury 5+ years ago and have seen numerous doctors and clinicians. She was able determine the reason why some of my symptoms are persisting and gave me explanations that no one has been able to in 5+ years. Sarah was able to really pinpoint the specific vestibular and balance exercises that were best for my recovery. I also had several orthopedic and gait issues, pretty much head to toe, that she helped me overcome. I am now able to exercise at a level that I never could before working with Sarah. In addition to her clinical expertise, Sarah took the time to explain my treatment plan and ensured I played an active role in our goals moving forward. She is a just a phenomenal and dedicated clinician.I also worked with Matt for TMD issues. He is kind and extremely knowledgeable and was able to figure out the cause of my discomfort. He was very patient and worked through several different exercises until we found what worked best. If I ever have any issues in the future, I will definitely go back to Sarah, Matt, and the Team at Ivy Rehab West Chester.
Matt is a wonderful PT and has removed all the pain from my leg.
I am so pleased that my neck feels so much better thanks to Matt Aiken’ s time and talent. He is truly dedicated to his work. The whole team is very friendly. It was a pleasure to check in with Jill at the front desk each time. Thx again,Jeanne Viscusi
My experience at Ivyrehab was exceptional. I had the pleasure of working with Matthew Aiken who is an excellent Physical Therapist. Always friendly and professional, Matt did a great job explaining the exercises, focusing on proper form. His training sessions helped me to improve my strength and balance significantly. I’m now doing the exercises at home and feel much better. Thank you Matt for all of your help. You and the team at Ivyrehab are the best!
Marissa is a personable and talented professional. She customized my recovery plan and made working through it fun and enjoyable. I am back to doing all the things I love!
Big thank you to Matt Aitken and the great people at Ivy for working with me on a nagging lower leg injury. Matt gave me the tools to overcome, tolerate and trust my injury while continuing to enjoy the activities I love each day. Thanks for the encouragement and persistence, they are great people and fantastic with their patients.
I was thrilled with my experience. My therapist, Matthew Aitken, was thorough, professional, and compassionate. He gave a variety of exercises and techniques as my condition evolved. He even did extra research between sessions to address my specific needs. Finally, Matt was kind & fun to work with. I highly recommend Matt and the Ivy Rehab center.P.J. from West Chester
Jessica Wade is fantastic. She provided a very detailed and attentive assessment while answering my 101 questions. Laser-focused, professional, top-notch therapy.
PT with Marissa at Ivy in East Goshen was fantastic! She provided the best exercises to improve my athletic performance. The hard work in PT with her paid off for an incredibly successful lacrosse season. Thank you!
It’s all about the people. Friendly kind and respectful. Received great care during my recovery from surgery. Thank you Marissa and Matt
I began therapy at Ivy in September (back) and then again in February (neck). Jonathan worked with me on both issues. He worked to identify the cause of the pain and explained what he was doing and how it would to help alleviate the pain.I was educated with information and when I was discharged, given exercises to do at home, to prevent any problems.I would highly recommend the therapists at Ivy. All of them know their stuff to create a great treatment plan.
Fantastic staff whom relate well to all patients!
I really enjoy working with Katie and appreciate the effort she is making to make my therapy successful. She is very good at figuring out exactly what is needed. Staff is very pleasant and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxing. Highly recommended
The treatment is personalized, one patient - one therapist. One complete hour, just for you. So far, very qualified therapist.
Marissa is great, very knowledgeable and listens to your concerns! IVY has a very welcoming environment.
I wanted a therapist who would push me to my limits. He did!!!
My therapist is a very caring person who wants you to improve each session. I am enjoying my time at Evy Rehab.
May 2022I was experiencing numerous issues with head wooziness, concentration, balance, and ear ringing in March 2022, and was referred to Ivy for physical therapy. Katie spent considerable effort getting to know my exact set of conditions to work out a proper treatment plan. She was excellent at getting to the bottom of vestibular dysfunction and working to put me on a path to an improved quality of life. I had marked improvement in just a few weeks and a couple months later I was a different person. I still have ear ringing on and off, and on rare occasions I get a touch of vestibular issues, but through all the techniques I was taught it's manageable on most days. I highly recommend Ivy as Katie and the other physical therapists there are outstanding, they love what they do, and they really go the distance to get you well.
I highly recommend Excel. All of the stuff is super friendly. Katie is very knowledgeable and caring. Provides individual attention and coaching. I couldn’t be more happy.
Jonathon Kritz in my opinion is an outstanding PT.He treats his patients with the utmost respect and compassion. He will go above and beyond when needed. He has changed my outlook, at a critical point in my life, to be much more aware of the benefits of healthy exercise and stretching. He knows the human anatomy very well-and uses this knowledge to the patient's benefit.
Therapists are friendly, knowledgeable, and take the time to explain what each exercise will do to help you get stronger
My total experience with Sarah was great. She always asessed my pain and then tailored my therapy to work on exercises that made my body and balance stronger. Reports we sent to my surgeon twice and then a final report sent my last day. I learned what I could do at home in between sessions. And I also want to thank Katie who covered for Sarah for a few sessions. Katie was on top of my recovery and also provided guided therapy to help my recovery. Both are very well versed in many areas of physical therapy. They both have positive attitudes and always provided positive encouragement on my recovery. I would definitely recommend Excel Physical Therapy located on Paoli Pike.
My physical therapist, Jonathan, is awesome. He’s very caring & professional. I always leave Excel feeling much better then when I arrived.
Went to Exel in West Chester. I had back problems that need physical therapy. Marissa was my PT. On a one to ten I give the firm a 10!!! Highly recommend that facility. Lou G
Katie and the Excel/IvyRehab team have been an amazing resource to guide my physical rehabilitation from conditions I had accepted as status quo for far too long.A special shout-out to Shamus, who has a very promising future ahead of him. He is already exceptional. And Justin makes sure the office doesn’t miss a beat. This is the place to go when your body says things aren’t quite right. Listen to your body. And me.
After experiencing a brain stem stroke 5 years ago that left me with constant dizziness and lightheadedness I have been confined to a wheelchair because I am too much of a fall risk to use a walker. My previous experiences with physical therapy produced minimal results because none of my previous physical therapists felt I was capable of enough improvement to get me on my feet again. They gave me very limited PT and said that was all my brain injury would allow.I decided to give PT one last attempt at getting some independence back and after a lot of consideration I decided it would be at Excel in West Chester. When I met Sarah Pachini I was immediately welcomed by her friendliness and impressed with her knowledge of my condition, Wallenberg Syndrome. None of my previous therapists were familiar with Wallenberg Syndrome and as a result their therapy was identical as it would be for someone with a concussion and not a brain stem stroke. Sarah explained some of the balance training that would help me and gave me confidence that someone was finally going to give me the proper balance training I had not received before and her positivity that our work would produce results gave me the confidence I spent 5 years looking for.Sarah’s balance training was amazingly effective because she knew exactly the type of balance exercises that would address the parts of my brain that needed to relearn how to balance my body again. I was able to progress from standing and holding onto a bar to freestanding for steadily increasing amounts of time. Then it was standing on a cushion at the bar first with my hands and then without. Sarah’s belief that she could improve my balance was becoming a reality, it was the beginning of doing things no one else thought I was capable of doing but Sarah believed in me.We then introduced a rollator I brought with me into therapy, it was my goal to be able to walk independently with the rollator and be less dependent on the wheelchair. Due to the balance, strengthening and endurance training I was able to begin walking with the rollator and I was soon doing laps around the facility. The next big step was walking outside with the rollator, first short walks that increased to all the way around the shopping center. It was an unbelievable feeling to be walking again! I truly believe that the progress I have made would not have happened if I had not worked with Sarah. I have begun walking around my block at home and as we continue to working together I have no doubt it won’t be long until I am taking the rollator to restaurants, doctor’s appointments, visiting friends and all of my activities with the rollator and leaving the wheelchair at home.
Great care and responsible attitude about their patients recovery. Also, a friendly, pleasant atmosphere.
