What we treat

Below on this page, you’ll find the full list of what we treat and the programs we offer. A high percentage of injuries and pain syndromes result from weakness and/or tightness in neighboring regions of the musculoskeletal system. Our therapists evaluate possible compensatory patterns in addition to the area of pain or loss of function. This thorough examination allows us to better identify and eliminate all underlying causes so patients achieve lasting results. We also focus on educating you, so that you’re empowered to take control of their injury, grow stronger than ever, and prevent recurrences.

We understand the impact that pain and loss of function can have on the lives of our patients. Our entire staff, from the front desk to our clinical team, provides a compassionate and motivational environment dedicated to healing. We ensure we are meeting each patient’s unique needs so their experience is both enjoyable and rewarding.

We have extensive experience treating a variety of conditions including shoulder injuries and surgeries, knee injuries and reconstructions/replacements, spinal conditions and surgeries, sports injuries and muscle traumas, chronic and acute pain syndromes, neck conditions and surgeries, pre and post-surgical cases, geriatric conditions, work-related injuries, chronic pain conditions, lower back pain, general strains and sprains, joint replacement recovery, vestibular and balance conditions, auto accidents, and much more!

The team as this location is incredible. They start with a true evaluation to gauge your needs and range of motion. It was hard road to recovery after a shoulder injury but the team was so accommodating and really worked with me to get em back mobile.
I highly recommend Ivy Rehab. Stephanie (my main therapist) was professional, friendly, communicative, and very patient. I felt very well taken care of. The entire staff, including Des, Molly, Paul and Shawn, are amazing.
5 stars for a young lady here named Desiree. Her personality is wonderful and her smile is infectious!
I’ve had three appointments here so far and am very happy with the service I’ve received. The friendly and professional vibe of the office is great when doing sometime awkward stretches. The staff is attentive and the pace is relaxed and comfortable. I’ve been seeing Paul for shoulder pain and he has helped with some systemic issues beyond just the shoulder. Grateful to be receiving this help in such a lovely business.
I came in for back and knee pain and left feeling great. Back to playing basketball and running. Brendan and Sam were excellent! Would highly recommend.
The team at Ivy Rehab EP are amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better group to help me work on a broken ankle. They taught me ow to continue to work on strengthening my ankle for the future. Thanks Brendan, Molly and Sean for all the effort and care!
Steph is the greatest! She challenges you to push past discomfort while staying attentive to your needs and rest. There’s such an inviting and productive environment in the office and among the staff. Glad I found Ivy rehab for my ACL recovery.
I cant say enough about the amazing Physical Therapist, Stephanie! She is intelligent and professional. Stephanie treats her patients with fellowship, kindness, and patience, as she challenges them on their way to wellness. Her explanations are precise and thorough. She is the same when answering questions. Her dedication to her craft and her patients is exceptional and I feel fortunate to be one of her patients.
I was referred to Ivy Rehab by an orthopedic surgeon at Penn for a shoulder injury, and I started seeing Stephanie at the Passyunk location in February. Over the last 2 months, my shoulder pain and mobility have improved tremendously. I really trust Stephanie with my care - it is very clear that she knows her stuff. Molly, one of the aides at the Passyunk location, is also wonderful and very friendly.
Had a great experience at Ivy Rehab. After a few appt's my hip already started to improve. Brendan was more than happy to explain everything in detail and the reasoning behind it. Would recommend!
Stephanie and Molly are the absolute best. Dream team. When I first came, I was limping everywhere. Now I can do all the things. 😀👍🏼
I highly recommend them! I went to a different PT before coming here and the care here is definitely better. Brendan put in the time to find a great program for me to follow in my recovery.
PT has been a blessing to me. I feel so much stronger and the pain is becoming more bearable. The staff is very nice, understanding and most of all motivating.
The staff is amazing! I came with a torn acl and Brendan & Molly have been absolutely fantastic adjusting my rehab to best fit my many injuries. Can't recommend this location and staff more!
I went to Ivy Rehab in East Passyunk for a few months for an injury, and I couldn’t recommend this place enough. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and very smart. Any concern I had was always answered with specific facts learned from their education, and the actual exercises we did helped address my evolving pain/worries throughout my recovery. Stephanie was my main physical therapist and she did amazing work. Thank you to the whole Ivy Rehab staff!
Stef at Ivy Rehab was great! She was thorough and thoughtfully explained what was happening throughout the treatment. Definitely recommend.
Great staff and making a lot of progress! Highly recommend!
Friendly, professional staff is helping me recover from an ankle surgery. They have adapted the routine to challenge me as I progress making every visit worthwhile.
(Posting on behalf of My Dad, the patient, at his request and with his permission): “I entered Ivy Rehab after surgery with great difficulty even being able to walk. In the ensuing months, I’ve gained an incredible amount of strength due solely to the expertise of Physical Therapist Stephanie and her Assistant Molly. Their dedication to their patients creates a great atmosphere for progress.”
I have really enjoyed my experience. The workouts have been great and the staff are kind and helpful.
Excellent physical therapists!
I saw Zach for both a shoulder and hip issue. I was in pain and not able to workout or run like I used to. My shoulder had been and issue for over 10 years and I had done PT two previous times with no help. My hip injury took me from running half marathons to not being able to run a half mile without pain.Zach was fantastic and I’m happy to say that both my shoulder and hip are dramatically better since working with him! Zach’s protocol was different than other PTs in the past. He knew I already had a lot of strength and didn’t waste time with lightweight ineffective exercises. He put me to work! And while it was tough at times it was what I needed to make all the difference.I’m up to three miles pain free and have an almost fully pain free shoulder. On top of his effective work, Zach was a pleasure to work with. He had a great attitude and sense of humor which made tough workouts a little easier.Thank you Zach, I would highly recommend him to anyone!
Maureen was tremendously effective at helping me identify the source of persistent side- and low-back pain that developed when I was postpartum, and getting me back to a pain-free day-to-day life as well as my favorite fitness activities. She is knowledgeable, caring, and very easy to talk to, and my experience across the board at this location was seamless and really pleasant. Highly recommend!
Easy to schedule appointments, friendly staff, relaxed environment. I will honestly be sad when I “graduate” and don’t have to come in anymore. Maureen has helped immensely with my pregnancy-related back pain, and she is a joy to talk to!
I worked with Maureen at Excel for treatment of my low back pain. I was provided with quality care each visit and felt that my care was directed towards my goals of returning to full participation in physical activities such as CrossFit. Maureen is pleasant to work with and passionate about physical therapy. I'd recommend her to friends and family!
I worked with Physical Therapist Maureen Sinnott twice: once for hip pain and again for knee arthritis. It definitely saved me from knee surgery. She was incredible! After she started with my hip she recommended I return to my orthopedist to request a script to allow for several low back treatments. She felt an issue with my low back was contributing to my hip pain. She was right. The orthopedist agreed and volunteered, "that is one excellent physical therapist!" But I never felt like I was being over-treated. Even though my treatment ended over a year ago I have had absolutely no pain since completing treatment. I highly recommend Maureen and her facility.
Maureen has brought me back 100% to my full training from not one, but two separate (unrelated) injuries over the years. I could not be happier with the level of care she provided for me throughout both recoveries. Professional and kind, Maureen would keep me focused on my training during our sessions to make the most of our time together. If/when I need physical therapy in the future, I will for sure go back to Excel and Maureen!!
Maureen is an excellent therapist! She made my rehabilitation process an effective and positive one. While recovering from a broken kneecap with two surgeries and a lengthy physical therapy regimen, Maureen completed the seemingly impossible task of returning me to my full range of motion! The entire staff at Excel is pleasant, efficient and compassionate. I highly recommend this practice!
I've worked with Maureen several times on various issues. She takes the time to fully understand my condition and maps out a schedule and strategy to get to get me back to where I need to be. She has a broad knowledge base and answers all my questions. I would highly recommend her.
I just learned that Maureen Sinnott is a clinical director and therapist at this Excel location and wanted to give a shout out. Maureen treated my painful shoulder and collateral issues at the Walnut Street location. The care was outstanding and led to a very quick recovery with full return of function and no pain or distress. Excel was run well at all times in the business side. I am a big fan and wholehearted recommend Maureen S. and Excel as a satisfied patient
I was a patient of Maureen while recovering from a fractured shoulder. She is wonderful, patient and communicative. Most of all she put me on track having full motion of my shoulder and being able to go back running. Excel facilities are well kept, clean and the staff is very helpful to answer all your questions.
I just wanted to take a moment and share how pleased I was with Excel Physical Therapy, particularly with the work of Maureen Sinnot. Maureen helped me get my shoulder back in shape after an injury. The treatment plan Maureen set up for me was effective, and I always felt like I was in knowledgeable hands. Every session was challenging, but fun, and I could clearly feel my progress. I highly recommend Maureen and Excel Physical Therapy.
Excel Physical Therapy, and Maureen in particular are amazing! I went to their center city location where Maureen did such an excellent job helping me with some chronic back pain I had been experiencing. She is so friendly and knowledgeable, and always made our sessions feel relaxing and fun! The facilities at Excel are modern, clean, and well maintained, and I’m so glad they have opened a new location in South Philly!
A few years ago in Center City I received physical therapy from Dr. Sinnott, who is now the Clinic Director at the Passyunk location of Excel. The level of treatment was fantastic, so I believe this new location would be a great option with Dr. Sinnott's leadership. Happy healing!
Excel was amazing when I needed to recover from a fractured elbow while snowboarding. I worked with Maureen and she got me through what I thought was impossible getting my full range of motion in my arm back. Maureen was reassuring and was very attentive during my recovery process. To add to the experience, the facility was great, the check-in and discharge process was efficient, I received copies of all the exercises that I needed to keep up with, and most importantly I completely recovered from my injury. I highly recommend this place.
I worked with Maureen for 2 years to recover from multiple knee surgeries. The last surgery was very complex and demanding and she worked with me step by step to my full recovery. she communicate also with surgeon to be able to help me in the best way possible. Beyond being excellent in her job, she is a fantastic person, always listening and really understanding my concerns, questions and so on. If I will ever need PT again she will be my point person from now on! All the personnel from Excel PT has been always nice, supportive, efficient and professional, this is the place to go to get back at your best shape!
