What we treat

Below on this page, you’ll find the full list of what we treat and the programs we offer. A high percentage of injuries and pain syndromes result from weakness and/or tightness in neighboring regions of the musculoskeletal system. Our therapists evaluate possible compensatory patterns in addition to the area of pain or loss of function. This thorough examination allows us to better identify and eliminate all underlying causes so patients achieve lasting results. We also focus on educating you, so that you’re empowered to take control of their injury, grow stronger than ever, and prevent recurrences.

We understand the impact that pain and loss of function can have on the lives of our patients. Our entire staff, from the front desk to our clinical team, provides a compassionate and motivational environment dedicated to healing. We ensure we are meeting each patient’s unique needs so their experience is both enjoyable and rewarding.

We have extensive experience treating a variety of conditions including shoulder injuries and surgeries, knee injuries and reconstructions/replacements, spinal conditions and surgeries, sports injuries and muscle traumas, chronic and acute pain syndromes, neck conditions and surgeries, pre and post-surgical cases, geriatric conditions, work-related injuries, chronic pain conditions, lower back pain, general strains and sprains, joint replacement recovery, vestibular and balance conditions, auto accidents, and much more!

Great place! Caroline did a thorough initial evaluation and came up with a great treatment plan. I was able to run again during the first week I saw her. She has adapted the plan according to my progress and made really useful recommendations for stretches and exercises. I highly recommend. The entire staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant as well.
would recommend nick & all the staff at ivy!! he listened very attentively and tailored the therapy around my needs
I got to interact with all of their staff and can genuinely say they're all incredibly patient, communicative, personable-yet-professional-and-respectful, and very good at what they do!Nick was my main therapist and absolutely wonderful. He was attentive, considerate, honest, and obviously skilled at what he does! I appreciate how everyone at this location treats the clients/patients like real human beings and roots for us ever step of the way (whatever those steps look like!)The facility is in an elevator building down a long hallways and ADA accessible. It's clean and feels like an ordinary PT office. I felt comfortable moving around in it and with it being further away from other offices we were never bothered/distracted by any activity in the large building. The windows have a nice view of the city sky!I'm really glad I was able to receive treatment here. Admittedly when I was discharged I was kind of sad! PT is hard work but my visits to Ivy Rehab felt like a positive part of my routine. I even mused asking if they do personal training outside of PT but thought that might be rude lol.Thank you for everything, Ivy Rehab! My foot is much better thanks to you :)
This was the best decision I’ve made this year as I’ve been suffering with neck pain for over six months and after only two months of treatments I feel like a new person. Ivy Rehap treated me with love and respect and knowledgeable therapy with Caroline.
Nick is a fantastic therapist; he’s attentive, patient and a great listener. He’s knowledgeable and fields any and all questions I have. I’m grateful I chose this location and trust him and his guidance! Front desk staff Shavonne ans Sophie (?) are kind and helpful as well. Would recommend.Oh, and great view too!
Great experience
My back, and later my upper trap were in great pain. Jason was super knowledgeable and never ran out of new exercises to build me up and keep things from being boring. I have chronic issues built up over the years, and now I am confident that I have a means to keep them from slowing me down. The whole staff is helpful and very empathetic. I have no reservations from recommending Ivy Art Center.
Ivy Rehab Art Museum is an amazing place! I feel so lucky to have worked with Rhythm Sampat for a few months. She is so passionate about what she does and is extremely knowledgeable. Thanks to Rhythm, I was able to fully recover from my elbow injury and come back so much stronger...with no more pain! She is amazing, and I am truly grateful for all that she taught me about the importance of taking care of myself, working out, and being a genuinely caring person. Jason, Caroline, Nick, (and Rhythm of course) are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. All four therapists make a great team and have created such a wonderful environment that I truly looked forward to going to each week. I am so grateful for the time I spent with them, and I highly recommend this clinic to all who need care!
This practice uses only physical therapists to treat. Most others use assistants, who do not have the same level of training.
These guys are fantastic. A highly knowledgeable top notch professional staff. I received excellent care from Jason, a highly skilled experienced therapist, and his team who were attentive to my needs, responsive, caring, and accommodating. Jason put together a program that along with the right balance of encouragement, patience and push resulted in recovery beyond my expectations. I could not have been happier with my improvement. I’ve never seen a team of professionals work so collaboratively to support their clients. The entire office is warm, welcoming, and friendly. I highly recommend this office and team of skilled therapists under the leadership of Clinical Director Jason Bink.
My PT therapist Mary Jane is patient, upbeat, kind and extremely friendly. She is a joy to work with.
Great experience. The entire crew of physical therapists are extremely knowledgeable. Jason helped me get back to running after a hamstring injury. He’s the best!
Great people and excellent treatment
Excellent physical therapists. Friendly and fun atmosphere. Fabulous windows & view.
Convenient, accessible, very professional and responsive staff, top to bottom.
I have used the services of Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy (originally Excel PT) over the last five years for several differentissues. My Rehabilitation Orthopedics physician sent me to them after knee problems. My assigned therapist was Jason Bink.Next, Jason worked with me before and after required shoulder surgery. The most recently the issue was nerve damage and a pretty lengthy cycle of physical therapy. There is excellent team work if your regular therapist is unavailable for your schedule. You receive clear instructions for home exercise and any equipment that may be needed beyond what they supply. The facility is always well supplied and spotless. In summary, if you do the work as a patient you get great results.
The staff at Ivy Rehab (Philadelphia Art Museum) is excellent, gracious, thoughtful, patient, and generous with time and support. Jason Blink and John Luca are wonderful. Besides being good people, they are remarkable therapists. I highly recommend the facility and people there.
I went to Excel - Art Museum for lingering runner's knee issues. My physical therapist, MaryJane, was a knowledgeable, positive, and energetic physical therapist. She knew when to push and when to ease off on exercises, and always made pleasant conversation that made the time pass quickly. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. Payments were straight-forward and easy. I would recommend Excel to anyone in need of PT.
This long rehab for shoulder repair has put me in Caroline Mancuso's excellent care for months. She's the perfect mixof pushing me physically to the next level while also keeping the spirits up, Caroline understands how it works together. The general atmosphere of everyone who works here is very friendly and the space itself has a beautiful view of trees and the sky.
I arrived at Excel as a quivering mass of pain. After a few weeks of Mary Jane's excellent therapy, I am back to my yoga routine and extended walks without knee and back pain. I can't say enough good things about her outstanding skills, but also her positive, motivating, and engaging personality that made each session a joy. Thank you Mary Jane!
Excellent physical therapist who tailored program for my specific diagnosis and was tireless in working on my improvement.
I’m getting PT three times and my experience has been very positive. Victoria, my therapist is professional, punctual, concerned, encouraging, and positive. I leave each session feeling motivated and hopeful.
10/10 Would recommend, not only did quickly recover from breaking my ankle but was in great shape from their help!! Best physical therapist in the game, MJ is the best in philly!!
I went to PT for nerve damage with my shoulder, arm and hand and I got a lot out of working with Mary Jane! She really knows her stuff and is quick to share information when I had questions and/or concerns. In addition, her upbeat disposition and energetic nature make her a pleasure to be around.
I’ve been a Physical therapist for last 42 years and have received treatment with Carolyn for a bulging disc, which rendered me bedridden. Within a month Carolyn had me off my walker onto a cane and then without any assistive device. The following month, I began to run/ walk with Carolyns encouragement and incredible manual skills and individualized programI was so impressed by my PT program, that I referred my husband to Excel. My husband, also had a wonderful experience, with his PT, Victoria.Thank you, both Carolyn and Victoria, as well as, the entire staff at Excel for improving our physical well being
Physical therapy that really works. I am not skeptical of physical therapy per se, but over the years I have worked with practitioners of varying skill. My previous experience really was eclipsed by the excellent experiences I have had at Excel Physical Therapy, Art Museum Area location. I have worked primarily with two therapists, and only because the first one left the practice. I have found that EV, the therapist who is currently helping me, and has been since early 2020, is an excellent analyst with regard to the particularities of whatever is going on with one or another part of the body. The therapists really listen to patients and work in tandem with them to achieve results. First time I have been effectively encouraged to stick with my plan of [home] care and succeeded in true rehab. Since mid-2019, when I first had an appointment for back issues due to being in a boot for a broken leg, I have been evaluated as well for a couple of other issues related to working at a desk day after day. The space is unusual for a PT space in that it has a ton of sunlight and is very cheerful, and is not cluttered. All the practitioners are really nice and there is a very good vibe about the place. It is clean and they are constantly sanitizing everything. COVID protocols have been in place from very early, and they were attentive to my concerns in Dec'19 and Jan'20 when I started worrying about a possible pandemic; they have not slacked off, which I really appreciate. Office is easy to communicate with and once you figure out how to find the suite within the building it is easy. In fairness, the electronic/IT stuff where patients have to fill in diagnostic questionnaires is absolutely awful, but that is a 0.000001 negative point, compared to all the rest being super positive. I would not say that I am a super positive person, either.
One of the best physical therapy/medical experiences I've had, and I've had a lot. Great knowledgeable care in incredibly friendly and welcoming environment, felt like everyone there working was a friend from start to finish. Mary Jane was a phenomenal therapist, would highly recommend this location. 10/10
MJ is excellent! Highly recommend!
This place is great! I used to go to Strive, but I gave Excel a shot since they are closer to me. I felt like I got way more one-on-one attention from my PT, Maryjane, and she definitely helped me get what I needed from physical therapy. No trouble from the billing department either, which I feel like always happens with my weird insurance. They just knew how to handle my insurance. Definitely recommend.
I had an excellent experience with Excel PT. I have tried to rehab my chronic knee issues with other therapists with little success and was considering surgery, but Caroline Mancuso has turned things around. She diagnosed long-term weaknesses in areas away from the knee, and helped me to stretch and strength those muscle groups as well as the knee. I'm an active male in my early thirties and I'm moving better than I have in six or seven years. I recommend Excel--and Caroline in particular--with pleasure!
For 8.5 weeks, I was under the care of Excel Physical Therapy. My therapist, Dr. Caroline Manusco, went the whole ten yards from getting my arm back to where it was prior to my shoulder dislocation/hairline fracture of the humerus. At first, I had days where it was a challenge. As time went on, it got better. She worked with me by starting out slow. At times, she pushed me to go for more. It was an experience I will never forget.
I have had a fantastic experience at the Excel PT Art Museum clinic! I worked with my Physical Therapist Susannah Rogers for 8 weeks who has helped me manage and reduce my cervical and thoracic spine pain. She customized my plan just for me and has been extremely attentive, understanding and knowledgeable. She is passionate about helping her patients feel better and it helped motivate me to take care of my body. My many thanks to Susannah and the Excel Team for your outstanding care!
I could not have been happier with my experience at Excel Physical Therapy - Art Museum. My PT Caroline was absolutely fantastic, and got me back to full, pain free activity in a matter of weeks. She was very patient and knowledgeable, answering all of my questions, and providing me with a plan to stay active and healthy. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and fun, and the experience was great.
I've been in PT multiple times over the years and had mixed results. I've worked with 2 therapists here for 2 different injuries/surgery. Jason is hands- down the best PT I've ever had. He's hands-on, he listens and offers a wealth of knowledge & experience. He really works with me to recover after major surgery.
It's a great place! My lower back pain is gone. Thank you Evan!
I worked with Randi Dahms at Excel after developing a cycling-related bilateral achilles tendinopathy. It's an annoying injury and I felt pretty lost when it came to dealing with it. Randi is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to her patients, and she understood my situation well. My sessions with her were immensely helpful, both physically and mentally. I made demonstrable progress in terms of reducing pain and building strength, and I also learned a ton about the biomechanics of cycling that will help me moving forward. Most importantly, I feel in control of things again, rather than feeling like my injury is controlling me. And I feel better than ever on the bike. Excel is a great place with great people who enjoy their work and want to see you succeed, whatever that might mean for you. I'll miss going there!
I worked with Randi Dahms over several sessions on a knee injury of mine. She was very knowledgeable, caring, and professional. When I was out of town for several weeks, she designed a program for me that was adapted for my limited access to equipment. She was kind enough to check in with me while I was away and made sure I was progressing. I would absolutely work with her again.
Randi at Excel is terrific. She worked with me pre-ACL surgery and challenged me to do exercises even I didn’t think I could do, and trained me to trust myself. As a result, post-surgery, I’m way ahead of where I would have been without her help and guidance. And now, just one session post-surgery with Randi, I left the appointment in much less pain than before my appointment because of her. Highly recommend Randi! Allison the receptionist is also awesome and extremely helpful.
I suffered a herniated disc last fall, and for months after I still found it uncomfortable to complete simple tasks like walking the dog or driving to work. I met with Randi for a consultation and she diagnosed the problem area quickly and effectively. After just over 2 months, Randi and the rest of the Excel team has gotten me back to virtually 100%. I no longer worry day to day about whether something that I need to do will cause severe pain, and now have the tools to manage the pain if it were to come back. Randi is very thorough and informative, not to mention fun to be around! I would highly recommend anyone to visit Excel with their injury, no matter the severity. Huge thanks to everyone at Excel, I really appreciate all of your hard work!
