We are located in Bala Cynwyd, PA in Montgomery County. Our location is near the West Laurel Cemetery. We strive to deliver exceptional physical therapy by making our services available and accessible to our patients nearby, within their communities.  We love being close to our patients!

About Us

At our clinic, we go out of our way to make your physical rehabilitation and recovery a great experience. You can see us with or without a prescription from your doctor! If you see us first, we can provide you with a complimentary injury screening or refer you to a great physician, if necessary. We know your time is valuable, so to make you wait as little as possible we even offer appointments within 24 hours of your first phone call. We’ll also do everything in our power to accommodate your busy schedule.

I had a very positive experience at the Ivyrehab location on Monument Road. I needed PT for a broken foot. Rob DeGregorio was my PT. He was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable with the exercises needed to get me back to normal. A great place and a great staff……highly recommend!

I started at Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy in April of this year. I needed water therapy for my legs and back. I am so glad my doctor told me about this place. The water help with some of the pain and allow me to do some of the exercises that I could not do walking around every day. I feel so free in the water, because I can walk around in this awesome pool and warm water very freely with out my walker. I am so happy about this. I love this place. The therapist and the trainees are patient and gentle and encouraging, They are knowledgeable and skilled. I had been to several rehabilitation center for back and leg pain over the years, but this one is awesome. Anthony is extremely caring, attentive and kind. He always tell me, he want to see me get better. So like today my ride was going to be late. He workedwith me extra time to show me different exercises. I feel myself regaining stamina and flexibility. He help me with stretching, strength and balance. All of this prevent me from falling and injuring myself at my age. I thank God for this place every day.

I came to Excel at the recommendation of a friend of a friend after suffering debilitating sciatica starting at 4w of pregnancy. 2 months of chiropractic care did nothing to help me. I started at Excel (I waited only one day for an appointment) with Frank who listened very thoroughly to all the areas of my life that were affected. After just a few visits I had an immense improvement in pain management and quality of life. After 3 months, I was well enough to transition to a home program for the remainder of my pregnancy. I cannot stress enough how much better I have felt since coming to Excel mentally and physically after months of such horrible, suffocating pain. Everyone at this practice is extremely kind, they remember details about you, and make you feel confident and comfortable. I would recommend EPT in Bala to anyone and everyone who is looking for physical therapy. I am so grateful for the care I received here.

The attentions to my needs beginning with the receptionist's and the therapist's attentions to the overall therapy received has been phenomenal! I now have the ability to painlessly turn my head when driving my car as well as in the course of conversation, etc. Additionally, the level of pain in my left shoulder has gone down to a "1-2" in 1 month, from normally being a "7-8" following 6 months of therapy from a different provider . I'm optimistic that a new script to cover my knees and ankles will produce similar results enabling me to stand still and/or walk pain-free as well as negotiate steps and down-grades "painlessly"; items I now attempt to avoid when at all possible.

I had a very rare injury for an adult and broke my left capitellum ( elbow joint). Although the surgery went well I was left with a nerve problem called CRPS. While I was grateful with still having my arm and hand the use thereof was all but gone; I couldn’t even use my left arm and hand to eat or wash my hair, etc.I went through several months of therapy with Emily Ralan; her dedication opened the door to recovery and hope and I started to improve.I also worked with Douglas Cheng that built upon Emily’s accomplishments and achieved many of his own. In my opinion Douglas Cheng has a gift and is simply brilliant! Even after the first session I was able to touch my face which was impossible before working with Doug.I will always be grateful to Doug and Emily as well as the welcome atmosphere at Excel where I started my recovery.I’m better every day now and could never have achieved this without them!I would recommend Excel to anyone, especially if you have a rare and serious injury or complication.

Excel's Bala Cynwyd office is my 3rd Excel experience and it's 5 stars, just like the first two (Jenkintown and Walnut St in Center City). Excel's business model includes fewer patients scheduled in the hour (on the 1/2 hour instead of the 1/4 hour) and no PT aides. All care is done by licensed physical therapists. I'm very impressed with Frank, the Clinical Director at the Bala site, as both a director and a PT, as he's worked on my as a back-up to my own therapist, Emily. Emily is a very informed, patient therapist who provides great communication and encouragement to her patients. Doug has also provided PT to me on Saturdays. Emily, Frank and Doug have all been exceptional therapists. I'm sure the others are too. As the Clinical Director of this site, Frank creates a positive, caring and professional atmosphere, but he knows how to have fun (i.e. the PTs all made ginger bread houses for the holidays and the patients judged them and selected the winner!). Frank makes sure that Bala is clean, organized and running smoothly. He's the perfect combination of a quality clinician and a customer-focused leader in one. His staff openly admits that they value his leadership and enjoy working for him. Additionally, my neck feels SO MUCH BETTER than when I started! My neck pain has gone from a 9 to a 3 to 5; it's a chronic problem and, as a post-op patient, I rely on physical therapy to get my neck back on track sometimes. Highly recommend Excel Bala, along with Jenkintown and Center City on Walnut. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Everyone I've met on staff is just wonderful, but I can confirm that Emily and Doug do a great job as physical therapists. Recovering from a hip replacement, and they've been kind, helpful, thoughtful, and quite effective. I'm doing so much better thanks to Excel. Highly recommend!

Best physical therapy center in the philadelphia area. The entire staff is professional, efficient, and friendly. My therapist Douglas cheng was very friendly and knowledgeable person. He helped me both virtually and in person. The whole place was really organized and clean. They cleaned all their equipments after every use. If I ever needed PT again, this is where I would go!!! It’s been a great experience @ Excel. Frank is attentive concerned & diligent in his treatment. For an undesirable activity in my day, it’s the best it could be. I would recommend Excel in Bala Cynwyd @ any time. The only drawback which has not effected me is: parking. If you need to be very close to entrance, there are fewer spots close up but plenty of spots in the lot. Also be on alert - the address sign of “150” is difficult to see. An easy fix tho!! Excel take care of highlighting the numbers on the address board

My physical therapist is Rebecca and she’s amazing. I have a severe ankle sprain and have been getting treated by her for the past 2 weeks.(2-3 days a week)She has a very happy and positive attitude all the time. At times I feel like she’s more into getting me back to 100% than I am because of how focus she is. But she goes at a pace that will gradually get you back and I have been loving my time there. The atmosphere there is great too.

I worked with Frank at Excel Bala for several months -- as he treated my shoulder. The entire team is extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly -- it's clear they love what they do. It's super easy to get appointments made -- and they've always run on time. Very clean facility -- and they do their best to make sure you're comfortable while pushing you at the same time. They get to know you as a person and going there is an enjoyable experience. I hope I never need PT again - but if I do, I'll definitely be returning to Excel in Bala.

I worked with Kayla at the Bala Cynwyd location. Her personality is out of this world, but it’s the main reason I keep coming back. She excels at what she does and puts 100 percent effort in making your outcome a success. She’s attentive, funny, & a great addition to Excel Physical Therapy. He is fluent in every sport imaginable and understands how the body needs to move in order to support the wear and tear associated with the social athlete. More importantly, he knows how to support healing while safely building the strength necessary to ensure that the cure is long term.Frank’s optimism, intelligence and compassion mixed with a healthy dose of “dad humor” made my time at PT productive and, dare I say, enjoyable. It wasn’t glamorous, and I can’t say that I loved every exercise, but they all served a purpose and that I could get behind. Frank and the team are super, both professionally and personally.The facility is clean and pleasant, scheduling is easy and the other patients, young and old, were also a hoot. We laughed a lot and worked hard. And, most importantly, now I am back on the courts doing what I love to do.
